But I remember this speech at the National Press Dinner with great affection.

I remember it as well, however I must respectfully disagree with you. When I saw it, I was horrified. While I despise Clinton (both of them, actually) as people, Imus was talking about the President of the United States. As such, the office holder deserves respect. Of course, now, with President Bush as the office holder, nobody gives that a second thought...

They raised $30 million that year and eventually reached $40 million. It took nearly $25 million to build the ranch, which costs $1.8 million annually to operate.

------------------------------------------

Gee, Imus used other people's money to build a $25,000,000 retirement ranch for himself, had $15,000,000 left over (using your numbers) and all he has to do is put up with a dozen kids for a few weeks. The rest of the time he and his skank wife get free use of the high-end furniture, art filled, architecturally recognized ranch with prize horses...all paid for by others. How do you spell scam?

btw...wipe the spit from your chin, you look crazy.

>Were Imus’s critics truly consistent, they would have hounded him off the air years ago

It's an example
of catastrophe theory!
Things accumulate,

variables change
slowly till a cusp is reached
then bang! the system

radically changes
to new equilibrium.
It's common stuff but

because it's French math [!]
pop press in America
never made it big.
