If you're referring to Nifong then you just haven't been paying attention.
He was about to lose his career by being beaten in the Dem primary for the prosecutor position. He needed the minority vote and he wasn't expecting to get it.
His opponent was a former prosecutor that Nifong had fired from the office when Nifong was recently appointed to fill the position, so Nifong had a good guess what would happen to himself if and once he lost the election.
So he had all the motivation in the world -- it's called self-preservation.
Is there a thread talking about the 60 minutes interview?
I still think Nifong was being blackmailed or is as crazy as Crystal. Not even trying to keep his job would make most people sink so low-—and without a rational hope of succeeding.

Nifonf wanted his pension. He was 2-3 years away from qualifying for his pension. The likely winner of the DA race was a woman who had told Nifong, she would fire him.
