Thanks for the compliment on the thread, it took me hours to do that yesterday.

Now as for this.........

Re: Jr to Hendrick -"You are most likely very correct in that...but, you know $$$$ makes people do strange things!"

That would be most people but not Jr Earnhardt. I just don't see him being number car # 3 behind JG AND JJ. Casey Mears is finding out why Vickers found greener pastures. Large teams cannot have every car a top car, even Rousch.

Now as for Childress, that's different because he would have his OWN identity there setting him aside from Happy and Nawthurn. I agree with NYT.

My tagline is looming........he will be able to talk to other teams after that date. I am willing to bet he could go anywhere he wants. As I've said before, Budweiser will go, most of the DEI crew will go. The only thing is the #8 will never be released by TE and THAT is a BIG problem for him.

If she won't budge on the 51%, he could take a one year extension with the understanding he gets the #8 after that if she still won't agree to the terms.

Per Jayski:

The Dale [Earnhardt] Jr. / DEI contract negotiations continue and the influence of ace negotiator Max Siegel may be bearing success. One contact told me [MaxChevy's Glen Grissom] on the down-low that the 51% (or majority ownership) that Dale Jr. requires to stay with DEI has essentially been negotiated – agreed to by Teresa Earnhardt. But that she, in turn, is requesting that an independent, impartial review board be set up within DEI that would take into consideration and review any major operational changes that Dale Jr. would want to take place – acting like a board of directors it seems to me [MaxChevy's Glen Grissom], with Dale Jr. basically reporting to it. So far, this has been balked at – but stranger management structures have survived in the business world. All parties say they want to have the contract resolved by May, so with April half-over, it’s crunch time.(MaxChevy.com)(4-19-2007)

NO ON THE REVIEW BOARD!!

Dale Jr’s Blog

Hangin’ Out on the Steamin’ Cleve

Published by DaleJr April 19th, 2007

What’s up everyone. Dale Jr. here, coming to you from the motorcoach lot of Phoenix International Raceway. It’s been a busy couple of weeks, so busy that I haven’t had much time to blog. My buddy Matt Good was kind enough to post a guest blog last week, and I appreciated it! He was with us during a weird Texas weekend, which included having to bunker down in the TMS Infield Care Center with a bunch of other drivers and families while tornados dropped and storms passed. We were fortunate that nothing happened at the speedway, but after seeing the damage caused by the storms in other areas of Fort Worth and Dallas, I’m glad we didn’t take any chances. We were lucky.

So here we are in Phoenix after a short time at home. We shot a new commercial for Wrangler all day Tuesday at my old Busch shop. That was actually a lot of fun, because the director and the cast of actors were really cool. Then I woke up at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning and boarded a plane for San Diego, where Shane and I visited a Navy base and toured the USS Cleveland, the oldest amphibious assault ship in the Navy’s Pacific Fleet. (One of the sailors called it “The Steamin’ Cleve”… I thought that was funny!) The early wake-up call was well worth it. I can’t even begin to describe how impressive it is to be on a big ship like that and see the hundreds of sailors at work. It makes me appreciate our partnership with the U.S. Navy, because the people on board these ships — most of them just out of high school — are true heroes. We were brought to the Cleveland on MH-60S helicopters assigned by the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 85 “High Rollers”. That was a crazy ride! I’m going to post some pictures on my IP, so check ‘em out!

We’ve got practice soon, so I’m going to get rolling. Have a great weekend, and thanks for being a part of Infield Parking. I’m noticing more and more members every time I log in, and that’s great! Continue to spread the word so we can make this the coolest online community on the web!
Junior

DEI Forms Entertainment Company Max Siegel, President of Global Operations for Dale Earnhardt, Inc., announced today the formation of the Earnhardt Entertainment Division, a new entertainment division within DEI that will merge the various aspects of the entertainment industry with NASCAR.

BTW, I want to see the COT race the COY on the same track.

It'd be fun to see one of the new cars up against one of the early run what ya brung cars, like a Talladega Torino 429 Cobra that you could actually go buy at the dealer...

Many other auto sports hold nostalgia races, so why not NASCAR? I have a friend who races a nostalgia Pontiac car at dragstrips all over the country and actually makes decent money doing it.
