You are comparing Muslim extremists on an airplane whose behavior cause many adults and trained flight safety professionals enough concern to have them expelled to an apparently disgruntled student who popped off at the mouth in class?

Then you assert that I’d sympathize with these Muslim extremists?

(Clerics are by definition extremists.)

And with that you offended me beyond redemption.

I’d say that your sense of proportion and outrage are undoubtedly screwed up if you can truly compare Muslim extremists on a dry run to a rambling student.

Kick the kid out of class perhaps and maybe even enter something on his “permanent record”, but arrest?

Although I don’t have any first hand experience with a highjacking, I do have first hand experience with a school shooting and unlike those weenies at CU I’d have a right to be offended or firghtened by someone’s off the wall comments. But I’m not.

But don’t even suggest that I sympathize with Muslim extremists....by doing so you become about the only thing lower than they.

Now they are going to round up and send to therapy all the goofy loner college students. Just wait. This is the first of many such stories we’ll see in the coming weeks.

Columbine II.

Speaking of Colombine. First reports had the shooters targeting jocks. And students evacuating the building stripping off and discarding their identifying team shirts.

How many students and ex-students had a slight frisson of schadenfreude on hearing that? But admitting to it was not wise.

Hard to see how any of this could be interpreted as a threat. Sounds like he is deservedly unpopular, self-centered, immature and terminally narcissistic.

And yet. Ann Coulter says similar things to this kid and Freepers go into rapture over her.

Given this kid's history it should be obvious he is a satirist. But the rulers saw an opportunity to stomp on a critic. This is NOT a good thing.

This is Liberal brainwashing at its best. This animal was a victim too. Liberal academia has blood on thier hands. They all saw the signs and not one of them had the goddam balls to get this creep of the campus! NOW IT IS TIME TO MAKE SOME CHANGES TO ACADEMIA

"The chains are being tightened, one small link at a time. You can hardly even tell that it’s happening."

Not unexpected though, is it? Another perfect opportunity to "seize the moment" by imposing more controls and restrictions on ordinary citizens while the bad guys continue to operate under the radar. The big government liberals/fascists have their wish lists out now, trying to decide how far they can ride this one.

“Is that a crime? Absolutely. As is yelling “fire” in a crowded theater.”

Absolute bovine excrement. Yelling “Fire” in a crowded theater in an incitement to panic that causes bodily harm. How does this compare?

How does this compare?

How does it not? Do you have any idea what the emotional milieu is right now in a VA Tech classroom? Are you that blind?

The context (right after VA Tech) is irrelevant.

A more ignorant comment could not be made.

Unfortunately 1st amendment advocates are simply too influential to allow a tightening of speech control laws.

"...the student "made comments about understanding how someone could kill 32 people,"

After viewing the snippets of video, I could understand "how" he killed 32 people. I could see the anger and the sickness that permeated every pore in his body. "Understanding how" he acted is much different than being sympathetic with a mass murderer's reasoning or justification for his action.

This is difficult because every hard-core Leftist thinks like Cho. Can’t lock them all up.

A more ignorant comment could not be made.

1. As another poster observed, if it wasn't a crime last week, it's not a crime this week, notwithstanding current events.

2. He didn't make a threat. Go read the definition of 'threat'. Just because you perceive or imagine a threat doesn't mean one was made.
