Welcome to Sanity Island, where only adults are allowed.
This morning, President Bush Visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. He was accompanied by some members of his administration including Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice.
On hand to welcome him were museum director, Sara Bloomfield and Elie Wiesel, about whom President Bush said, "I thank very much Elie Wiesel for joining us. He is a -- he's a big figure in the life of the world, as he should be. He speaks with moral clarity. And I can't thank you enough for being a leader of talking about what is right. And I'm honored to be in your presence."
The full text of President Bush's remarks can be read here.
President Bush speaking at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, Wednesday, April 18, 2007.
After lunch, President Bush Met with Bipartisan and Bicameral Congressional Leadership in the Cabinet Room. Prior to the meeting he said, "We're going to have a very good discussion. People have strong opinions around the table, and I'm looking forward to listening to them. I've got my own opinion, which I'm more than willing to share. The whole objective is to figure out how best to get our troops funded, get the money they need to do the job that I've asked them to do."

Quote of the Day
I am pleased that the Supreme Court upheld a law that prohibits the abhorrent procedure of partial-birth abortion. Today's decision affirms that the Constitution does not stand in the way of the people's representatives enacting laws reflecting the compassion and humanity of America. The partial-birth abortion ban, which an overwhelming bipartisan majority in Congress passed and I signed into law, represents a commitment to building a culture of life in America.
The Supreme Court's decision is an affirmation of the progress we have made over the past six years in protecting human dignity and upholding the sanctity of life. We will continue to work for the day when every child is welcomed in life and protected in law.

Thank you sharing that, Carolinamom. I am hoping that everyone who knew in person will share some memories with those of us who only knew her here on FR.
Mr. Mayor, if you’re around tonight, will you please post Kay’s Military prayer list you posted last night? You know, the one wherein you were able to snag the html.

I’m doing fantastic! I am so pleased and thankful for our five Roman Catholic Supreme Court Justices who upheld the ban on infanticide, er PBA. So many Catholics, including me had prayed for them to be true to our faith.
