Bloomberg To Fund Anti-Gun Ad Campaign
WCBSTV (CBS) ^ | 18 April 2007 | Marcia Kramer

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and a coalition of 214 mayors are using the Virginia Tech massacre to pressure Congress to give local cops the information they need to trace illegal guns used in crimes.

CBS 2 has also learned that they're also launching a TV ad campaign starting Sunday.

"We're fighting criminals and illegal guns. Why is Congress fighting us?" Bloomberg said Wednesday.

The ads will start running in four days in New York, Washington and the congressional districts of key gun advocates.

"I don’t want my officers to have their hands tied when it comes to having to deal with the issue of illegal guns for criminals," Bloomberg said.

The ads are funded by Bloomberg, who said he will personally spend whatever it takes to stop a bill that would allow the feds to withhold crucial information on illegal guns needed by local cops.

And so it starts. They are going to use the deaths of others to push their beliefs.

You political idiots can't even trace the illegal aliens standing on the street corners looking for work. Tell us how your going to find and get rid of 500 million guns?

It's because you're commies and most people hate commies.

They are dressing this up as being about illegal guns, but it’s not. A lot of mayors don’t like legal guns - see Washington D.C., Chicago, Baltimore, etc.

This is why I now own a Glock 23 and a Glock 27. I never would have bought a semi-auto handgun until our ultra-liberal ex-governor Paris Glendenning (D-Maryland) started on plans to outlaw guns. Once the top politicians start actively trying to invalidate the Constitution look out - Buy them while you still can...

If Rudy Giuliani was smart, he’d point to Bloomberg and say, “At least I’m not as bad as him.”

Why do I have the feeling that "Congress giving local cops the information they need to trace illegal guns used in crimes" will morph into "Congress banning civilian ownership of guns"?

Yes, of course.

This has nothing to do with 'tracing'.

This has everything to do with 'banning'.

“to give local cops the information they need to trace illegal guns used in crimes.”

These anti-gun campaigns always start so noble sounding-who could argue with the idea of helping cops trace illegal guns used in crimes? The problem is what they ALWAYS end up trying to make criminals out of law abiding citizens who own legal firearms. Now is the time for us to prepare to meet the coming onslaught on our rights, before it’s too late.

We don’t need gun control; Cho was a foreign national. We need immigrant control.

Why are the dimlibs simultaneously trying to ensure that Islamofacists will eventually attack us again here as well as trying to remove the one thing we civilians have for self-defense?

As opposed to letting cops trace legally-adjudicated nutcases like Cho? But nutjobs have civil rights, some of which supersede the civil rights of everyone else.

Oh, and the guns were legal until Cho attempted to remove the serial numbers. Of course, he was already in big trouble for violating the "gun free" zone. And these are "sensible, proven" gun laws that "prevent" crime.

"We're fighting criminals and illegal guns. Why is Congress fighting us?" Bloomberg said Wednesday.

Because you and the other mayors and other chiefs are lying sacks of sh**. You could give a damn about crime or people or anything other than your own jobs. If you really cared about people you would sponsor classes to teach those who need it how to handle a gun, what the laws are, gun safety, and personal safety and responsibility. But Bloombutt et. al. just want slaves like all the other liberals.

"We're fighting criminals and illegal guns. Why is Congress fighting us?"

Because you are attacking law abiding citizens. What's an "illegal gun"? Judging by the laws in NYC, one in the hands of a peaceable and otherwise law abiding citizen.

Bloomberg and his 214 communist mayors need to go to fly-over America, break into homes and try to seize guns and see how it turns out.

Nothing new. Thomas J. Dodd and Emanual Cellar began this crap at federal level back in 1961.

Before that “Mad” Tim Sullivan, Mayor of NY got the sullivan law passed. It disarmed everyone but at that time was used only to disarm people passing through the “Red Hook” district of NY. This way Sullivan’s gangs could rob at will as they were not disarmed.

It is fitting Sullivan went mad and ended up being killed by a train.
