After Iraqi Troops Do Dirty Work, 3 Detainees Talk
New York Times ^ | April 22, 2007 | ALISSA J. RUBIN

Posted on 04/21/2007 10:47:20 AM PDT by do the dhue

In one of the new joint American-Iraqi security stations in the capital this month, in the volatile Ghazaliya neighborhood, Capt. Darren Fowler was heaping praise on his Iraqi counterparts for helping capture three insurgent suspects who had provided information he believed would save American lives.

“The detainee gave us names from the highest to the lowest,” Captain Fowler told the Iraqi soldiers. “He showed us their safe houses, where they store weapons and I.E.D.’s and where they keep kidnap victims, how they get weapons, where weapons come from, how they place I.E.D.’s, attack us and go away. Because you detained this guy this is the first intelligence linking everything together. Good job. Very good job.”

I cut out the Times BS and just put the good stuff in. You can read it all. But the Left just can't print a story with out making it seem like the US is always wrong.

If you do readthe entire story, you will see that:

The Iraqi officers beamed. What the Americans did not know and what the Iraqis had not told them was that before handing over the detainees to the Americans, the Iraqi soldiers had beaten one of them in front of the other two. The stripes on the detainee’s back, which appeared to be the product of whipping with electrical cables

I know, the Manhattenite elites at the New York Slimes thinks this is a bad thing and is horrified by it. To the rest of NORMAL thinking human beings, making a jihadist primative suffer so that American lives may be saved makes total sense. In the calculus between sparing these animals any discomfort and sparing American lives, ANY normal thinking American would saying sparing the vermin discomfort is what must fall by the wayside.

Maybe if these same journalistic snobs had a child of their own in Iraq facing death at the hands of these barbarians, they'd understand why we might prefer a terrorist insect be made to suffer some pain so that our soldiers' lives might be spared.

By the way, why does the organ grinder monkey media never hand-wring over terrorist barbarity that daily kills dozens of innocent Iraqis? When that happens, it's all seen as being Bush's fault by the clown car media for having us in Iraq to begin with, as if the primatives will stop their mass murder campaign in Iraq just because we flee.

I guess Capt. Bassim Hassan doesn’t know that as a Muslim he’s supposed to hate Americans and work against them. At least according to some here.

Iraqi soldiers know their culture and their people. The way they perform interrogation is in accordance with their own customs. No matter what the New York Times says, we must respect legitimate efforts by Iraq’s forces on behalf of their nation and its elected government.

A patriotic soldier from Iraq who is fighting for his own country’s sovereignty and security is a highly effective weapon against terrorism. He is a valuable asset to his nation and an honorable protector of his countrymen.

The terrorists are committing acts of mass murder against the Iraqis. Why shouldn’t there be some harsh tactics employed to stop it?

Liberals amaze me.

HEAR HEAR

why does the organ grinder monkey media never hand-wring over terrorist barbarity that daily kills dozens of innocent Iraqis?

To answer that, I would have to think like a liberal. I am not willing to blow 90% of my brains out and cut my manhood off, in order to think like a liberal. So, I am sorry, but I can not and will not ever answer that question.

NYSlimes just had to twist the story.

This is perfect proof of their negative bias. I find them treasonous.

And to you liberal lurkers: if you don't like being called a traitor, then don't give me a reason to do so.

Even if this story is true, and the sources cited (but not named) have reasons to lie, it proves nothing about the US military. It does prove something about the New York Times, yet again.

This so-called newspaper is willing to cause the deaths of Americans, Iraqis, and others, in order to feed its political prejudices. Had the Times functioned the same way during WW II, it would have published the names and sailing times of American vessels as they left the US to brave the U-boats in the North Atlantic.

I spit on the Times, its publisher, its editors, and the "reporter" who wrote this article. None of them deserve the rights and protections of this nation, and its military. However, they get those rights and protections anyway, because our Constitution says so.

I'd wager that most of those same FReepers haven't gone to visit Arlington to pay respects to the fallen, so they haven't seen that American Muslims have shed blood to defend America in the WoT. For example...

LOL! I was wondering how that story even got into the NYT .. but then I read your explanation.

They probably buried the story on the inside of the last page - too much good information to share with the public.

The greedy MSM leaves a bloody trail and has become the partners of Al Qaeda terrorists and their copycats - in Iraq, Afghanistan, at Vermont Tech.....
