Requested to post and update you all on ORA.
Less than two weeks into this important effort, and with a month still to go, we already have over 125 commitments across 37 states! Plus hundreds of inquiries on top of that, and I know at least a few state coordinators are working on efforts behind the scenes.
Although I know it will change, as of right now we do not yet have ORA (Operation Recruiter Appreciation) representation from:
AR, DC, DE, ID, KS, LA, MT, NE, NM, OR, RI, SD, WI, WY,
Pizza has been a very popular selection (who doesn't like pizza?!?), as has homemade baked goods & doughnuts/coffee. Some of the more unique ways of honoring recruiters include customized shoe bags, Truffels & Powerball tickets, car shows outside recruiting offices, and a potential band festival. I sincerely thank everyone for their enthusiasm and creativity.
We hope to have word soon on how/where interested people can get GOE banners, armbands, business cards, press packets, etc. Stay tuned.
Larry Bailey contacted Maj. Upton in the SecDef's office (I believe), who deals with recruiting issues. He is aware of ORA, has no problems with it, and plans to notify recruiting commands that they may be getting visitors. The Department of Defense will not endorse ORA, because as a matter of principle they rarely endorse any activities like these.
Now please remember to contact the recruiters beforehand, and help spread the word. And I'll leave you with a nice note I received today.
Silent no more,
Coop
I just called the Senior Recruiter for Syracuse and she was taken back by the offer. She said that my call made her day! I wanted to let you know that they are not open on Saturdays usually as they are an Officer Recruiting Center. So, we made arrangements to come by on Friday, May 18th at lunch time. There are 3 people in her office, including herself.
She asked about another recruiting station in a suburb of Syracuse, in Mattydale. She said that THEY ARE REALLY HAVING A ROUGH MONTH with meeting quotas and etc. She said that she would rather see us visit that office than their own as they could really use a boost. I told her that I would be happy to take care of both offices. So, I will also be going to the Recruiting Station at 2803 Brewerton Road in Mattydale, NY (zip - 13211) on Saturday, May 19th. (MAR)
---- To borrow John Walsh's phrase - you CAN make a difference
If you have a PING list, could let them know, please?
THANKS for your help.
BTTT!!
Pinging a few friends...
Thanks for the ping!
Great idea...that you and your kids have already been doing for a while!
hey, star, you want on the PING list for GOE updates?
Yes! Thanks!!
consider it done!!
Please coordinate via email to the above address, not by posting here on this thread. This will avoid duplication of effort (which almost happened here in South Jersey) and to give less info for the moonbats to read and decide to counterprotest.
My apologizes for the typefont at the front; I wanted to get folks' attention.
thanks, Joy!

We continue , but need volunteers .
We wish to do this more often than only on Saturdays as well.
Am I dreaming ?
Our Troops deserve this level of support now days.
In the meantime, I will also pass on your request to my GOE contact!! Those of you here, who read it, please pass on the info to anyone you may know in the area there.
Leo, thank you!! Do not give up hope!! Do not give up the fight!! I have been standing alone every morning in front of Planned Parenthood for the last few months... people notice. They notice when I am not there, and when I am. They comment to others about it, and the word travels to me. My prayers while I am there are being heard, and it is making a statement to those who drive by. The same goes for you, Leo! From now on, as I stand in front of PP, I will be saying a prayer for you and your endeavors, before I start with my prayers for LIFE. HOLD FAST!!
Thanks for posting this!
Pinging to a few who might want to know...
