Yeltsin was flawed, but he did a lot of good things. I respected Yeltsin a lot more than I respected Gorbachev — and SO much more than Clinton.

Leaders tend to be associated with each other.

Roosevelt and Churchill.
Reagan and Thatcher.
Clinton and Yeltsin.

And there are others.

Algore is/was always one to try to get on a political train and hope it will take him somewheres.

Back in the day we were always told how close algore and Chernomyrdin (then Russian VP). Now they’re both out of work nobodys (as far as I know). But back then we were told how this algore/Chernomyrdin relationship was the “future”.

The media is trying to give Clinton and the Left some credit in the history of the fall of the Soviet Union. Nope. It was Yeltsin.
