A civil servant who leaked a secret memo about George W. Bush wanted it to be seen by US presidential candidate John Kerry, the Old Bailey heard.

David Keogh, 50, from Northampton, is said to have passed a highly sensitive document detailing talks between Mr. Bush and Tony Blair to Leo O'Connor.

Mr. Keogh told jurors the contents of the memo had preyed on his mind.

Mr. Keogh and Mr. O'Connor, 44, also of Northampton, deny three charges under the Official Secrets Act.

Mr. Keogh had been asked to copy out the memo for distribution to high-ranking UK officials.

The civil servant arranged to meet Mr. O'Connor at the Labour club in Northampton to arrange to leak the document, recording an Oval Office meeting between the two leaders in April 2004, jurors heard.

Giving evidence Mr. Keogh told a jury that he hoped it would be used to raise questions in the House of Commons, and also that he wanted it to be used in the US.

"The main person in my mind was John Kerry, who at the time was American candidate for the US presidential election in 2004," he said.

He admitted that he had unavourable views on Mr. Bush...

Maybe the prosecutors did not realize his motives. But anyways, since Congress is trying to run foreign policy, why not pass out pardons too.

Just in case anyone really questions that weasels in Europe and weasels in the USA work in tandem -- they do not have to meet face-to-face or overtly coordinate their activities in order to work together (though they sometimes do, as when Howie Dean and others fly over to suck up to EU socialists). This treasonous socialist weasel leaked this doc, the DBM had a field day on both sides of the Atlantic, and it helped the Kerry campaign as intended (fortunately it did not put Jon Cary over the top).

In the UK, it ought to be an open-and-shut case of a violation of the OSA....... whether they will have the 'nads to put this scumbag away for a very long time is another question.

The judge told the jury that parts of the case relating to sensitive material and matters of national security would be held in camera away from the public.

Then they passed through The Traitor's Gate to the scaffold where David Keogh and Leo O'Connor were hanged, drawn,and quartered as traitors to the British people.

Hannity is a really likable guy who communicates well to those on the left side of the IQ bell curve. We need people who can do so, but statements like that *are* annoying.

I tend to listen to him when I am at my home on Rush Lake more then I do when I am in S.E. Michigan. There are less options at Rush Lake. There are times when he is really spot on. I can't remember specifics right now, but I have seen/heard him go after certain commun....er, uh leftists with a bull dog determination and not let go when he does interviews with them. The bleating needs to stop, however.

I have stopped trying to communicate to leftists, those so called "good people" everyday democrats that "own firearms and go to church". They are as riddled with hate as their handlers, Karl Lenin, Bubushka Piglosi, Hairless Reid, et al. I blame the so called Republican leadership for its utter failure to take advantage of the moment, every moment, to point out the failings and dangers presented by the left and police itself. Rush doesn't tend to pander to the right, nore does Mark Levin (when I can hear him), but Hannity and Ingraham want to throw out the "once great party" b.s and I say enough. Anyway, thanks for letting me rant.

Have you ever heard of Melita Norwood? I read about her when she made the statement in the clip below. She had worked for a company that did research on uranium and other metals needed for atom bomb production, and passed on everything she could to the Soviet Union.

The news coverage was "ho-hum, why get excited about an old lady", when it should have been asking "how many people today operate on the principle that America should not be the only power with certain secrets?"

The public's first picture of her was of a slightly stooped, great-grandma reading this statement to reporters massed outside her front door. "I did not want money. It was not that side I was interested in. I wanted Russia to be on equal footing with the west."

The neighbours were gobsmacked; her daughter expressed amazement; and Norwood, with typical British phlegm, said: "I never considered myself a spy, but it's for others to judge." Then she politely closed her front door to the media, and Bexleyheath went about its daily business, respecting the privacy of former Agent Hola behind her privet hedge.
