Well it took all of 5 years before the FR subliminal messages made me finally tune in to ‘24’. So if I’m watching Korean TV in 5 years, I’ll be coming after you. :-o

Can’t speak for Fish, but I expect that to know something about Korean culture and ways helps fosters interest and that I don’t have.

Well, I did live there so I guess that helps.

We’re still in Germany and Japan - the Savage logic left a lot to be desired today. In the 4 war years he’s talking about, we lost over 300,000 compared to the 3300 in Iraq. And we still ended up with a pyrrhic victory of sorts.

We’re still in Germany and Japan -

We're still in Korea as well, which IMO should be called WW2 1/2.

the Savage logic left a lot to be desired today.

Agreed. He also forgets that in Germany we also had to deal with "insurgents"--pro-Hitler terrorists after the official end of WW2.

In the 4 war years he’s talking about, we lost over 300,000 compared to the 3300 in Iraq. And we still ended up with a pyrrhic victory of sorts.

The liberal establishment seems to think there's nothing worth fighting for anymore. I'm sure they'll regret that when the islamofascists come for them first.

Just went to lgf. unbelievable. I don’t know if your in the Bay Area but all those support structures shown are recent earthquake retrofit reinforcements. I can see a new boondoggle in the works now: making every inch of freeway in California resistant up to 5000 degrees.

Reasons to watch the first clip:

(1) Tamar posted a clip, so I watched it. Then I was interested enough to start watching from the beginning.

(2) The Korean buildings reminded me a bit of Russia.

(3) I was impressed with the Korean school systems that were portrayed: they showed a genuine esteem for education (math in particular), and they showed the students cleaning the school after the day was over.

(3) The drama is subtle, not forced like too many American shows...

I could write more, but not for now...

"...I don’t know if your in the Bay Area..."

I'm on the right coast. California isn't known for sensible solutions to much of anything these days so I wouldn't be surprised.

Who IS that? It really looks like Junsang from Winter Sonata (Korean drama).
