digg.com is in complete meltdown. It’s sad and yet oddly entertaining.

It’s the nature of data to be free. I love it

You said — “digg.com is in complete meltdown. It’s sad and yet oddly entertaining.”

LOL..., yes it is entertaining...

A side thought here. I see that it was posted by digg.com that they had to remove this number because it was “copyrighted”??? — or intellectual property rights??? [whatever...] Well, I think I know the solution to that one.

You haven’t ever heard of copyrighting (or property rights to) something *backwards* have you? I haven’t. So, simply post the number *everywhere* — backwards — with the additional comment to reverse it. Simple, I would think....

Hey, can someone put out that idea??!!

Yeah!!

I have absolutely no idea what this code-stuff is all about.

I need help converting my old 7” reel-to-reel tapes over to those plastic CD thingys.

Will these codes help me? Thanks ..................... FRegards

Maybe (too obscure)..., how about my idea of simply reversing the entire thing and say, “reverse”....

Or, put it a pattern of counting every 4th number, so start at the first number, count four, count four and when to the end, go back around again, still counting four.

To me the “reverse” is the easiest. Can simpy “reverse” overcome “intellectual property rights”?? That’s the question...

We'll be back shortly.

Digg will be down for a brief period, while we make some changes.
While not digging, the digg crew recommends:

You asked — “Will these codes help me? Thanks ..................... FRegards”

Well, it will probably help you the same way the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution helps you. You probably don’t refer to them every day or even once a month, maybe not even in the last five years. BUT, they have been helping you every single day by what they mean and how it integrates into your life.

This is simply a number (code-cracking number) which will allow a programmer to give you a program that will let you crack the supposedly “uncrackable” HD DVDs... LOL...

So, everyone is going nuts over it...

no, but it does provide the basis for backing up a copy of your $50-60 HD DVD/ Blu Ray movies, should they get scratched or otherwise damaged. The is also the option to remove FBI warnings, previews for movies you will never buy and other trash from the disk you have purchased and may own for years to come.

I really enjoy watching trailers for five year old movies when I want to watch my favorite movie.

Theoretically, it would be a DMCA circumvention method/device in any form in which it could be represented.

In reality, there’s no need to “hide” it anymore. That sequence generates 270,000+ hits on Google. This toothpaste is not going back in the tube.
