I forwarded it to my brother (USAF ordie 1969-73) and a good friend (Air Cav, Nam 1968-69), good for a hoot!
haha! thanks
It's true.
The version I’ve heard is better:
Given a mission to secure a building:
The Army will lock all the windows, and post a sentry at the door.
The Marines will set up a 360 degree perimeter with cleared fields of fire and preplanned artillery and air strikes.
The Navy will send in the Marines.
And the Air Force will take out a three year lease with option to buy.
It may be funnier and exactly what would be done if ordered to take a building, but it's not true in this case. As a sailor, I have secured many buildings. The lights were turned off and the doors locked when I left.
Very funny!
Though, with nearly 27 years in the Air National Guard, securing a building would still mean locking the doors.
Participated in a joint exercise in 1996, RIMPAC. Worked with Aussies, Canadians, and others. The only ones I could not understand were our Navy. I thought the Air Force had acronyms, sheesh.
