Let's win this war!

YOUR ACTION REQUESTED BY SOME TROOPS IN IRAQ: Please spread the word about an appeal for redress that people in the military can sign to show support for the mission. They are having problems getting the word out:

If you haven't seen this yet: A campaign by active-duty troops asking Congress to drop plans for a withdrawal from Iraq. Lt. Jason Nichols, a 33-year-old naval projects officer who has been in Baghdad since mid-January, said the goal is to keep lawmakers focused on letting the military finish its mission in Iraq, and not prematurely declare failure

The Dems sure won’t go along with it, and the GOP has shown they are just about as addicted to the power game as the Dems. There just aren’t enough people left with the belief in limited government to make it work, I’m afraid.
:::
There is no doubt that the American citizen has trusted their government to the point of betrayl and failure to function as a government “for and by the people”. One has only to look at Washington’s performance at any given day and there is no doubt.

America does not have a government...the government has an American that works for it...

Seems like we get one of these McCain threads once a day or so.

This comes under the category of “all conservatives look alike.”

You can’t expect the liberal media to think anything else.

How well I remember. I worked at NASA during those times. :-(

Thanks for serving our country :-)

Let them convince their liberal readers that it’s true. We know better.

PS: I absolutely love your tagline. The statement is sad, but true.

I believe that he is going to decide not to run.

he won't do that now... it's too late for him not to run... he would not have let it go this far... he would just be a huge disappointment... and would look very silly... he's going to run...

No doubt Fred’s by far the more true Republican when compared to McCain. There’s no debate. 20% is huge

Thanks a lot for the ‘ping’ to the Fred video earlier. I’m looking forward to watching it, whenever I’m back on a high-speed connection. I appreciate it.

"he's going to run..."

I believe you are right. When he announces, the grassroots republicans will unite behind Thompson in a way which we've never seen before.

I’ll say it again: Fred Thompson/John Bolton 2008!!

If that isn’t the dream ticket, please tell me what is?

Honestly? It’s the first one I’ve seen. Sorry if it’s already been posted. This is the first I’ve seen someone trying to compare to Thompson to McCain.

No, he will say that he cannot find support amongst his peers for his belief in limited government. He will say that it is deeply troubling that there is no longer any debate over whether the Federal Government has the right to rule as it does.

Don't get me wrong, I so want Fred to be President. But part of me knows that there is no way that the beaurocratic juggernaut that is the Federal Government will not destroy the man, and our hopes along with himi f he dares attempt to wrest power away from them.

"Honestly? It’s the first one I’ve seen. Sorry if it’s already been posted."

I wasn't speaking of this article in particular. I was talking about the McCain/Thompson threads that seem to often get posted. My apologies for not being clearer.

“Fred Thompson...railed against an expanding federal government”

And somehow this is a negative? I want a politician who will keep government small.

No to Bolton. He's a great guy but he is too connected to the Bush administration to be a wise choice. Better to pick someone who is outside the administration--and better known. The average Joe has never heard of him.

Also we want someone who will help us pick up at least one sizable state we would probably not get otherwise. Pawlenty would be a possibility and might even bring in a surrounding state or two.
