WHY does the leader of this Great Nation even give these appeasers the time of day ? For the same reason he gives Pelosi and Reid the time of day, and those two aren't flying close air support in Afghanistan, either.

“For the same reason he gives Pelosi and Reid the time of day, and those two aren’t flying close air support in Afghanistan, either.”
FAA putatively refused Pelosi and the HillaBeast permission to use their ancestral aircraft in US airspace. Something about no safety belts on their brooms. ;-)

That has nothing to do with Bush bashing. It is completely understandable the current administration furthered Turkey's cause: So Turkey would keep still about Iraq. On could say that at a certain moment in time it was in the US's national interest to support Turkish EU membership.
However, as such, the idea of Turkey in the EU is just wrong. Just because I agree with politicians in general, doesn't mean that I agree with them on every single issue.
But more importantly it's an internal issue for the EU. It's Belgium and Poland who need to discuss whether they want Turkey to join their club. The US as a foreign nation should have no say in that decision, just like the French socialists and the German Social Democrats should shut the *bleep* up about internal matters of the US.

I disagree.
That area is in OUR sphere of influence, and we better do everything we can to make sure the Iraq mission succeeds.
As for Turkey screwing up the EU ? Well, thats just two birds with one stone.
The EU is a socialist boondoggle that is an enemy of the US.
