Al Gore's speech Saturday at the American Institute of Architects convention was closed to the media, but you can read about it in today's Express-News on Page 1B. How we cracked the former vice president's iron curtain is a mildly entertaining story, but more on that later. The why we crashed the speech is more important. Here is Express-News Editor Robert Rivard's reasoning in asking the paper's environmental reporter, Anton Caputo, to find a way to infiltrate the AIA confab:
"Al Gore and his crusade to raise awareness about global warming and climate change are issues of great public interest, and while he has the right to address the visiting architects behind closed doors, we have an obligation to make every effort to report on his speech to a wider audience.
"We take climate issues seriously at our newspaper and, frankly, it's odd that he is adamant about shutting out the press."

Purists might contend that was unethical. To me, it was like crashing a Ku Klux Klan rally.http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/metro/stories/MYSA050607.03B.richter.2e871d4.html
LOL........sneaking into gore's speed was like crashing a Ku Klux Klan rally........ROTFLMAO!!!!!
speed=speech
The “inconvenient truth” is that Gore has degenerated into a total whackjob who goes around the country making statements that are false, misleading, scientifically inaccurate and likely to be publicly challenged. He and his minders don’t want too many people to find that out. Congrats to Caputo for crashing and reporting on this loon-fest.
yeah... Al Gore was trying to hide something, maybe he was trying to hide the fact he is still a great Big Bore.
this report is a complete joke. It nothing but pure idolization with NO substance at all.
Proof once more that the Globaloney myth is a religion for its believers and has NOTHING to do with science.
Create a TAX Gore... yes that will solve everything.(sarcasm)
I don't think he's a total whackjob.
He's a minor league whacko and a big-time scam artist.
He's creating a very lucrative business for himself and his cohorts at Lehman Brothers by scaring the hell out of the non-skeptical sheep.
He's also a hypocryte, but that's to be expected of a swindler.
Burnishing one's SELF-image... Ouch.
While the EXACT cause is not known, medical researchers at Vanderbilt University speculate that Al's Descronificator Drive has suffered oxidation damage by being subjected to the warm, moist atmosphere during his increasingly frequent and lengthy "cranial-anal inversions."
Not to worry: Here you'll find an excerpt of Al's vital message during an earlier presentation with a little bonus from Hillary at the end of this short clip:

Global warming is the heating of the Earth caused in large part by man-made emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
Just the facts, ma'am.
Methinks that was exactly the plan.
All this writer does is worship on the alter of Al’s alarmist achievements. There’s nothing about what he said in the speech, nothing but orgasmic gushing about why it’s so important to get Al’s Word out. The only half decent line was that it was like crashing a KKK meeting, but the author doesn’t tell us WHY it was like craching a KKK meeting.
Totally useless story. What did he say?
I agree with you on the shyster part, except that I actually saw him speak and he has the true whackjob glint in his eye. That, combined with his natural pomposity, is truly something to behold. There is no rule that says hypocritical whackjob swindlers can’t get rich in the process. Sucker born every minute alert.
Are you saying he has the "crazy eyes" stare?
This story hurts my brain this early in the morning to read about them sucking on Gore’s “wang”.
