That survey, and the timing....just happens to coincide with the hearings - could there be a more obvious set up to make the Marines look "bad"?
I couldn't believe what I was looking at when I saw Petreaus on TV expressing his concern for the low percentage that would report a fellow soldier for killing a civilian.

Didn't see him on TV, but Gen. Patreus' responses appear weak in the article. From the article:
"We can never sink to the level of the enemy," Petraeus said by video link from Baghdad. "We have done that at times in theater and it has cost us enormously" -- referring specifically to the torture and humiliation of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib facility west of Baghdad.
I wouldn't call the humiliation at Abu Ghraib anywhere close to sinking to the level of the enemy who beheads, tortures, blows up people. NOT CLOSE! That's quite disappointing even if you are pandering to Iraqis or the media.
It would be interesting to see these questions in context. Yes/No responses to such serious issues like, "Would you turn in a fellow Marine if they killed or wounded an innocent civilian" is useless information. Well, was it an accident, how seriously wounded are they, are you sure they were innocent (they don't wear uniforms), do you trust your immediate command to not railroad your buddy, etc.
