CHESAPEAKE - A 19-year-old who police said is in the country illegally was detained after a store clerk who processed film he dropped off suspected an undressed girl on the film could be underage.
Carlos Ramos of the 3700 block of S. Military Hwy. is charged with producing sexually explicit materials, said Christi Golden, a police spokeswoman. Ramos is being held without bond in the Chesapeake jail. Other charges are pending.
A clerk at the Wal-Mart on Grassfield Parkway called police Tuesday after processing the pictures, which included a 13-year-old girl, Golden said. The girl is nude in at least one of the pictures.
When Ramos went to pick up the pictures, police questioned him about their content, Golden said.
Ramos told police that he was dating the girl, Golden said. The girl admitted to police that she had a relationship with Ramos and her mother told them she was unaware that any sexual activity had occurred.
Police discovered that Ramos is in the country illegally and contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, Golden said.
Ramos will face the charges in court. If he is convicted, he will serve his sentence, then be deported, Golden said.

FWIW, though, this is really nothing new.
When I was in 8th grade (30+ years ago), I knew several girls who had similar relationships. Some of the girls were old for their age, and I suppose thought it was a grown-up thing to do. Some of them thought the guys were exotic.
Others were "lost girls" from the wrong side of the tracks, and usually unattractive. You can figure out for yourself what their motivations might have been.
It was no less wrong then than now, but this stuff been going on forever.
Wake up call - the hispanic birth rate here in Mexifornia outpaces any other, and fathers seem to be nowhere in sight. Our welfare system and child benefit system is overloaded.

What you say applies to young Mexican girls too. Our culture views a young teen girl with an unplanned pregnancy in an entirely different way than the Hispanic culture. It derails education and generally leads to a life of poverty. Their culture doesn’t especially value education.

No problem. Just a cultural difference. The age of consent in Mexico is 12. Pretty soon she’ll be too old for him and no one will have to worry about it.
I've heard of much worse. A Mexican resident mom (who never learned english) who had an old boyfriend that remained a family friend.
This "friend" starts giving rides at age 34 to her 13 year old daughter to school. This fellow was alreadu married and by the time the girl was 15 and he was 36 he had made the girl his mistress with lots of sex and limited her life until she got out of it herself in her mid twenties. The mother never knew. The older man played her and had her in a Stockholm Syndrome situation and to this day has not been held accountable for any of this.
When I heard about this and came across this Macho Man I informed him of what a big pedophile and statutory rapist he was. Just too bad you can't get someone like that jailed. The now YOUNG WOMAN wouldn't press charges if she could and would be embarrased to let the mother and family know.
She also tried to kill herself twice at 15 and you have to wonder how much the pedophile was responsible for that.
So, this story is not untypical to me in cultures where there is accepted bad treatment of women or expected mistresses in addition to marriage. Sure sucks though.
