CHARSADDA: Some unidentified men blew up two music and video shops on Wednesday night at Charsadda, whereas no loss of life was reported.
Owners of Amjad and Kashif Video CD Centre while registering a report in Umer Zai Police Station said a bomb went off in the main market of Mirabad after midnight of Wednesday and Thursday.
As a result, they said their shops packed with colour TVs, DVDs, cassette and videos worth millions of rupees were completely destroyed.
Others shops in the market were partially destroyed but there was no loss of life, according to Police report. Police has registered the case against unknown men and started investigation.
On the other hand, President Shopkeeper Union Muhammad Wahid strongly condemned the incident and demanded security for shopkeepers and immediate arrest of culprits behind the incident.
The good news is that the Syrian pressing of Barry Manilow's "Greatest Hits" (yes, the DOUBLE LP!) was unharmed (well, except for a cutout holepunch in the upper-right of the rear sleeve)...
Music is against the rules according to Sharia. Electronics is against the rules. Being happy is against the rules. Relaxing is against the rules. Watching TV would most definitely offend Allah.
Am I the only person that has no clue what hemisphere this place might be found on the map?
OK OK, I cheated with Google Earth.
;-)
I almost nailed it by about 5,300 miles. Whew!
Strains of Hatt Baby are ringing in my head.
That’s a riot!
