David Gregory has long been accused by Republicans of being a left-wing hatchet man disguised as a reporter. Add to that, Gregory certainly does appear to love the limelight as his questions at presidential news conferences, or really any time the cameras are roiling, turn into long-winded filibusters. Many news observers from the right and left agree, for David Gregory, it is all about Dave.
If you can accept that, that would make him a really good radio talk show host to replace ousted shock jock Don Imus. (That would also make him a really bad reporter). Now a report from the New York Daily news claims that David may just get that chance for the limelight to shine on him.

Tucker’s show works a lot better in that time slot than any of the other shows. It has to be informative, but light-hearted to get people to watch/listen. You have to cover all sorts of things about pop culture and not just reading the headlines like they do on CSPAN. Chuck Nice works on VH1’s Best Week Ever and that’s the sort of mood for a show to be successful in that slot for MSNBC. Nice and Tucker and Willie Geist and some laid-back chick who isn’t some shrill feminazi (also like the ones who contribute on Best Week Ever, or like Stern’s Robin Givens) would be perfect.
Reminds me of that Tom Daschle Show parody that Rush plays.

I agree, the Tucker try-out has been the best so far. Willie Geist has a future and needs to be given more air time.

FYI..I’m not sure if WFAN wants to go that route. They had Boomer Esiason doing the morning show for a week....today’s host is Geraldo Rivera. There’s a large market for all-sports talk in the morning..which ESPN radio now owns...so they may decide to go in that direction..the thing to remember is that Imus was originally a radio show that was simulcast on MSNBC, then, with the new TV studio..it became more of a TV show broadcast on the radio....I don’t thik that MSNBC will let the new show have a radio friendly format..
