Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards is calling on his supporters to turn this year's Memorial Day into a day of antiwar activism, saying that the best way to honor the troops is to demand an end to the Iraq war.

"Each of us has a responsibility as Americans, a duty to our troops and to each other, to do all we can to support the troops and end this war," the former senator from North Carolina said yesterday during a commencement address at New England College in Henniker, N.H.

This man truly is diseased, to even contemplate using a holiday comemorating those soldiers who have fallen purely for political gain. I think he needs another $400 haircut - close to the shoulder.

MORON. Memorial Day is a day to honor those who died serving their country, not just a generic honor our troops day. I doubt that surrendering honors those who have died fighting in Iraq.

The Breck Girl has gone from channeling dead children, to channeling gaseous escapes from the DNC’s posterior waste elimination orifice.

See! I am trying to clean up my language.

Unfreakingbelievable. He dishonors the sacrifice made by so many. I may have changed my mind on illegal aliens. 12 million can stay if I get to pick 12 million Dems we can deport.

PS If you want to be totally enraged, go to his website. He has the NERVE to link to many of the soldier support groups advocating to support the troops by sending packages and cards, while pulling the rug out from underneath them here at home.

He is the lowest form of life.

Geez, correct me if I am wrong. I thought Memorial Day was to remember soldiers who have given their lives for their country. Veterans Day for all Vets. I am more than a little tired of this revisionist stuff.

We just honor the troops - by working for their defeat. That's the Democrats' Memorial Day solidarity message with them.

And why do the mavens in the MSM never ask the likes of Edwards and his ilk what the consequences would be to pulling out? No doubt he’d say it’s not his problem. But the rest of us cannot be so cavalier.

Not surprising that a scumbag like Edwards would try to rewrite the purpose of Memorial Day, and for political gain no less.
