House Armed Services Committee Passes (Duncan) Hunter Amendment to Punish Companies...

Washington D.C. - Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA), ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, successfully offered an amendment to H.R. 1585, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008, prohibiting the Pentagon from purchasing goods or services from a company sanctioned by the U.S. Department of State for violations of the Iran and Syria Nonproliferation Act. The Armed Services Committee unanimously passed the Hunter amendment by voice vote during its mark-up of the legislation yesterday.

"We know that Syria and Iran are complicit in attacks on American warfighters in Iraq. One of the deadliest weapons against our troops is the explosively formed projectile, which is machined in Iran and smuggled into Iraq," said Congressman Hunter. "It is irresponsible for the Department of Defense to conduct business with companies that have been sanctioned for aiding these countries in their development of deadly weapons."

The Hunter amendment specifically prohibits the Department of Defense, as well as defense contractors at any tier, from procuring goods or services from a source owned or controlled by an entity sanctioned by the U.S. Department of State for violations of the Iran and Syria Nonproliferation Act (Public Law 106-178).

The full House of Representatives is expected to consider the committee-passed National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 in the coming weeks.

He’s exposed Pelosi’s idiocy very recently. That plastic hag is a disgrace.

Pretty sad that this country has to resort to passing a law to prevent this type of action. You would think that people were patriotic and support the mission of the U.S. Oh, that’s right. I forgot, for a moment, that there are lots of liberals who don’t see this country in a patriotic light.

More proof that Duncan Hunter has 20-20 vision, and acts on that vision. So sad that his colleagues cannot seem to see beyond their very long noses, much to the detriment of our beloved country.

Also more proof that we must be more selective in electing truly conservative people who are American through and through into legislatures local, state and Federal. No president can preside effectively without a meeting of the minds between the executive and legislative branches of government.

So let’s clean House! Elect Duncan Duane Hunter to Congress. Let’s also elect a President with the best interests of his country at heart.
Elect Duncan Hunter!

I’m with ya. However, the msm will highlite only those conservatives who are really RINOs in disguise and therefore Duncan will be left on the outside. Truly sad for this nation.

The MSM has been highlighting Fred Thompson extensively. They keep saying that we conservatives are not happy with our field of candidates. I say I haven’t been so happy about a candidate since Pat Buchanan ran, or Ronald Reagan, both of whom I worked very hard for. The man I am happy about is our one and only consistently conservative, Duncan Hunter. He’s fighting for you, he’s fighting for me every day, and still keeps appearances to speak on the campaign trail. An amazing man! Check him out if you haven’t already done so. :o)

Oh, I have checked him out and I believe he is the best candidate out there, even if Thompson and Gingrich jump in. I really do not believe the GOP will get behind him. Really too bad since he is the most conservative in name and action. Unlike a bunch of RINOs.

I know, taf. I meant to say “if anyone”, not “if you”.

The only way we can get our message across to the RNC is TO SEND NO MONEY TO THEM. Send money directly to your chosen candidate. And to strengthen the campaign of Rep. Duncan Hunter, contribute at http://www.duncanhunter08.com. Our children, grandchildren and their children will thank those who do.

Duncan Hunter could carry California. A lot of electoral votes there. I don’t believe any of the other candidates could carry California.
