Gore being a “doctor” is like Sharpton being a “reverend”.

Gore is invested in nuclear power? I recall in the 90s it was often stated that the bulk of his personal fortune had come from investments in petroleum and oil. Does anyone here know more about what Gore’s previous and current holdings in energy are? If what Cockburn says is true, it would certainly make Gore’s global-warming crusade more comprehensible.

Al Gore betrayed this country. He played on our fears.

To a Liberal (or in this case a marxist), the only thing worse than polluting the planet is — ta da — financial gain.

Here’s “not a bad gig if you can get it”:
Start a fear mongering religion, with its own set of indulgences, set up a company to sell those indulgences, buy your own indulgences and guilt others into doing so also.

The article is a crude tirade, replete with loose name-calling and venom. It has very little factual depth.
It is interesting that a leftie turns against Gore, but lefties are generally unstable. It’s why you don’t want them as allies.
We can do better than this.

Alex Cockburn is such a demented leftist that his support is of no use to conservatives, ever. It is one thing to welcome the periodic rays of sanity from a Christopher Hitchens or a Joe Lieberman, but Cockburn is the kind of hateful, delusional leftist nut who makes Michael Moore-on look almost sane.

Not unusual for Marxists to be at war against each other. If I were Alexander I’d be wary of Mexico and men with icepicks.

The apex Greenhouse fearmongers are well aware that the only exit from the imaginary crisis they have been sponsoring is through a door marked "nuclear power", with a servant's sidedoor labeled "clean coal". There is no mystery here. Greenies are resisting the call to nuclear power that is being issued in the face of so called "global warming". This guy is in a rant against global warming because he fears nukes will gain acceptance with the general public(such as they have in France)and we will start building them again, not to mention we might dump a few thousand useless eviro laws that do nothing except stifle growth and development of energy sources of all types.
This is his fear and it is so great that he is willing to trash his fellow lefties to stop the nukes.
It is clear as a bell when you read the article. He isn't against global warming so much as he is in developing alternate power sources.

The next AOL, the next WorldCom (fraudulent rip-off companies similar to Enron, but never given the degree of exposure in the media as evil capitalist companies that Enron was) will be corporations that peddle carbon credits. Before that happens, however, Gore and a few of his cronies and family members will become mega-billionaires, allowing them to build a few extra trophy homes, and buy a few extra private jet to fly around the planet in.
