Fred Thompson responds to Michael Moore on youtube
Should that clip be rated R?
“He did something Castro didn’t like and they put him in a mental institution for several years giving him devastating electroshock treatments. Mental institution Michael. Might be something you ought to think about.”
The genius of Thompson’s reply lies in the phrasing at the end. He all but calls Moore a nutjob. If anyone tries to accuse Thompson of name-calling, all Thompson has to do is look wide-eyed and say, “I was just telling Moore that he ought to think about what it says about him that he supports a man who puts his enemies in a mental institution. He really ought to think about that.”
Genius.
bttt
I for one am happy that this fat arse bearded cooter cap wearing moron is back in the public eye. I am glad that Moore has once again decided to show the public just what it means to be a democrat these days.
As for Fred, he sort of teed Mikey Boy up and hit him out of the park.
There was no label on the cigar. I paused the video to check.
Coincidentally, I just received a new Thompson catalog today. The Montes are on page #57. The next time I’m near a Tinder Box I’ll have to pick up a couple. I usually smoke Ashtons, CAO Italias or HdM Excalibers.
I like the response. I’m tired of Republicans cowering to liberal insults and accusations.
Mikey, loser boy, 1971 was a long time ago, you being born in 1954, that would make you all 17-18 years old.
So evidently you are bragging about winning a high school debate award.
What a freaking LOSER.
Mr.Thompson would wipe your fat ass all over the stage
I love the H&M excaliburs. Basically, after cigar prices skyrocketed 10 years ago, I started smoking central american cigars. I have found a lot of good nicaraguan ones.
Great slapdown by Fred!
Moore: “Fred Thompson likes Cuban cigars.”
Geez Lumpy Reifenstahl, what cigar smoker doesn’t?
They’re running this on CNN and someone in my office said “Oh, I can’t wait to see this.” “It’s good,” I said, thinking (like an idiot) that she was a Fred supporter. “Yeah, George Bush is going after Michael Moore for going to Cuba.”
I sighed. “No, he isn’t. Moore got the same letter from Treasury that you or I would get if we went to Cuba. What he wants is publicity for his damn documentary and he’s making it sound like Bush is out to get him. If Bush wanted to “get” him, he would have done it in 2004, not a year and a half before he leaves office. I mean, why didn’t Moore take these people to Canada instead of Cuba? Because he WANTED to get the letter from the Treasury.”
“Oh, well...I didn’t know that. You have good facts.”
I just looked at her. “I have GREAT facts.”
Insightful analysis. From your mouth to God’s ear.
I usually smoke the Excaliber maduro #1. Its large size really brings out the flavor.
If you haven’t tried a CAO Italia, do so if you can find one. A liquor store and a city some miles away still has a few in their little cigar case. They’re about 52 x 5 and a medium brown maduro. Mild > medium with a fine flavor. I’m going to pick a couple up this weekend before they run out. They’re not nearly as robust as the Excaliber, but are unique in their own way.
He really makes that self-important little prig look ridiculous.
Who Thompson was talking about:
Nicolás Guillén Landrián, a painter and Cuban filmmaker who was once accused of trying to assassinate Fidel Castro, died on July 22 from pancreatic cancer. He was 65.
Although Guillén directed 18 documentaries and won several awards at film festivals in Europe, he was expelled from Cuba’s Institute of Cinematography for making a movie that mocked the Cuban dictator. In the late 1960s, Guillén was accused of plotting to kill Castro. He was imprisoned for two years, then confined for nearly a decade to mental institutions where he was subjected to electroshock therapy.
Guillén left Cuba in 1989, moved to South Florida and became a painter. His artwork was exhibited at the former Cuban Museum of Art to sell-out crowds. But when he ran out of money, Guillén refused to take an ordinary job. Instead, he and his wife, Grettel Alfonso, ended up living on the streets. They bounced around the country, struggling to survive in dilapidated hotels.
Guillén eventually returned to Miami to produce the documentary, “Inside Downtown,” a 30-minute look at homelessness. It was released last year.
You have to love the big fat cigar in his mouth, dont ya?!
You left yourself wide open with that statement. :)
Oops!
I decided to be nice.
Did it hurt? I know you aren’t accustomed to that role... ;^)
Awesome. LOL.
ROTFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d vote for him on that alone.
