Geewillikers, the idiocy never ends.
I thought he was going to be accused of being a Skin-Head.
Well ya’ know, I think short hair looks nice on black men and boys. IMHO. Can’t see a problem here, maybe there’s more to the story... but there always is, isn’t there?
His head looked shaved to me, I don’t see how it’s either disruptive to the class or racially motivated, though.
Looks like a normal hair cut that I see HS kids wearing here in Florida. The school is way out of line IMO.
I have no problem with that cut. He appears neat and it’s a good cut. I’d like more details, but his family is right; it’s got to be something else.
It’s “disruptive” because it somehow fails to show immediate obedience to the nanny-state, which is the central goal of most government schools.
Good thing he didn’t have a butter knife or he would have been sent to jail. I firmly believe that common sense is absent from our schools.
That’s pretty much the same haircut my kids have had since...well...since birth, practically.
He looks nice, and I’m SURE the school has better things to worry about.
Regards,
And Derick’s Mom is white.
I saw the kid and his Mom on the news this morning. She looked like a nice lady and her son seemed like a nice, well groomed young man. He was also suspended for wearing orange and black last Halloween. The Principle said they were GANG COLORS! LOL!
Gee, I’m happy to know that the students attending that school are learning so well and achieving so much academically that the administration has plenty of time bug them about their haircuts. That little boy looks nice. It is a lot easier for little boys to have buzz cuts. And what is that school going to do if there is an outbreak of head lice and a bunch of kids have to have their heads shaved? All that said, how in the world could that be construed as rascism? It sounds to me like garden variety stupidity.
The assist principle there is named “Kamilya Al-Sharif Al-Sharif”
I’ll leave any comments to the peanut gallery..
Sounds like the assistant principal is on crack cocaine.
The whole issue is bizarre. The young man looks nice. MANY young African-American young men in our area have such styles. I don’t get it.
Too bad the mother and her son cannot move out of that district.
So he’s suspended (ie MISSING SCHOOL) until his hair grows back? I swear, the morons that are running some schools...
When I was his age, we HAD to have our heads cut that way!...........Bring back the “Flat Top”!........

One could easily say that the 'lack of style' or basic lack of good grooming on the Administration's part could be disruptive.
