It's time for every patriotric American to wrap their trees with yellow ribbons and send a message to terrorists and Washington that we support our troops.
I have a yellow ribbon around my tree for my grandson in Baghdad, but I intend to display another one for our captured, wounded, and KIA troops and for those serving in all foreign lands, but particularly Iraq and Pakistan.
I hope all Freepers will join me in sending this message of support. Please, let's beribbon as many trees in America as possible. Thank you all.
This country should be awash in yellow ribbons. God bless our troops.
You know things are getting bad when it becomes imperative to double down on the symbolism over substance.
I have always refused the yellow ribbon deal. This once meant that a loved one was in the U S cavalry, not a captive of some third world bully.
The ribbons became a symbol of our submission rather than our committment to do something bold and positive. To me it only represented carter's ineffectiveness to get our hostages out of Iran.
Demand victory, not symbols.
“Demand victory, not symbols.”
Of course. But our troops also need morale boosters — especialy now. There is nothing wrong with “symbols.” They are an important part of our heritage.
A yellow ribbon may be a small gesture, but if millions do it en masse, it will (hopefully) have more meaning.
BTTT Ditto!
