"In the Middle East, youth feel politically paralyzed, and are doubly excluded. Like the general population, they cannot choose their governments and are severely limited in venues of self-expression," she said. "Certainly, failed U.S. policies in the Middle East have provided a fertile ground for radical groups."

The fact that the Middle East is stuck in the 7th century is all our fault. Good to know.

However idiotic her opinion might be, this thread still deserves her picture:

She makes no sense whatsoever! First she blames it on not being free to choose their government and then blames the USA which is providing that freedom in the M.E.

She's an assclown.

Sheikha Mozah is the second of three wives of Qatar's emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, and is a leading voice for increased female participation in public life and education.

So isn't she actually the second lady of Qatar? If I were the first wife I would be a little upset that the second wife is getting top billing now.

I would say her point about disaffected youth is not far from the truth. You get mad about something, but don't feel you have any way to change what you are mad about until someone comes up to you with a plan. A charismatic imam telling you "your anger is a gift" and that you will have all this power and 72 virgins is probably a pretty seductive thing.

“Failed U.S. policies” is code for “support of Israel”.

The lives of 500 million ME Muslims have been ruined by 5 million Jews. Sure.

...the real culprits include poverty, a lack of political freedom and "failed U.S. policies."

Let's see, those things could apply to sub-Saharan Africa, many places in South America, and a lot of places in East Asia, yet their citizens are not slamming airplanes into our cities.

This b!tch is gonna find out seriously what "failed U.S. policies" mean when we withdraw from her sand dunes, and let the Shiites go to war with the Sunnis. May Mecca turn into a smoldering ruin on the next hajj (pilgrimage).

Replace "failed US policies" with "Israel's survival" for the real point she was making.

Nah, it has nothing to do with Islam, or removing children from their mothers and sending them to madrassas for indoctrination in the name of Allah, or stoning woman in the name of Allah, or covering women in public in the name of Allah, or removing themselves totally from the rest of the world through visual and behavioral barriers in public, i.e. veils and praying in public places, etc. IN THE NAME OF ALLAH. Sounds as though this woman was as sheltered as her peers to come up with this opinion. Backward doesn’t begin to explain it.

Oh yeah- poverty, that’s the ticket!
Poor people everywhere hack off heads and blow up airliners and buildings!
Poor people everywhere are SO despondent they look to their RELIGION for guidance and support.
That’s what Muslims are doing!
And in the WRITTEN WORD of your ‘religion’, you female sub-human according to Allah, are all the instructions for the death and terror and barbarism ISLAM is foisting upon this planet.
It’s about Islam. It’s in your ‘holy’ book! Unless she’s willing to edit the Koran, there it is! No other religion’s scripture demands world domination and wholesale slaughter to achieve it. Poor Christians and Jews look to the Bible for comfort when they are downtrodden. They find love and inspiration.
Poor Muslims look to the Koran and listen to their Imams- and what do they find? Hatred, brutality and instructions to kill for power.
Who the hell is she to comment anyway? Islam considers her nothing. She should put a black sheet over her head and behave, just like the Koran says. Bad Muslim!!

Qatar's first lady argued Islam has been incorrectly blamed for the rise of extremist violence when the real culprits include poverty, a lack of political freedom and "failed U.S. policies."

She's right. It's high time the U.S. stopped killing infidels around the world simply because they won't convert to our religion, and stopped using passenger planes as flying missles to ram skyscrapers with.

When will we ever learn?

I would like to see how these blame-the-US-first Muslims explain the great success of Japan, Korea and other countries who certainly did not receive preferential treatment from the West.

But they won't even address the issue because it would involve admitting that the fault lies in their own societies/religion.
