UPDATE: Six conservative senators are demanding that Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.) negotiate a “full and open debate” on the immigration legislation.
Senate Democrats and Republicans are working feverishly with the White House to put the finishing touches on an immigration proposal that could be announced later today or tomorrow. The deal would give illegal aliens living in the United States amnesty, according to confidential sources. It would also allow illegal aliens to bring their parents, spouses and children into the United States.
Multiple sources on Capitol Hill with knowledge of the proposal said Sen. Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.) has been able to extract significant concessions from Republicans. The critical part of the deal is a lengthy section that spells out the provisions related to “Z” visas -- or what my sources described as the “Amnesty Title” of the bill. The “Z” visas would be broken down into three categories as follows:
Z-1 -- Illegal alien present and working in the United States up to January 1, 2007 Z-2 -- Parents and spouses of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category Z-3 -- Children of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category

One section of the proposal grants these “Z” non-immigrants four-year visas for an indefinite period of time. These visas would be given to people not currently in the United States if they are related to a current illegal worker.
Sources indicate that these aliens, along with their dependents, would be allowed to legally remain in the United States under certain conditions for an indefinite period of time, even if they chose not to pursue the so called “pathway to citizenship.”
The burden of proof would be low for illegal aliens to prove that they were continually illegally present in United States. This provision would reward the illegal alien for proving continual illegal presence and illegal employment in the United States with a “Z” visa. This provision in the Kennedy deal, approved by some Republicans, is clearly amnesty under any definition, according to immigration experts whom I consulted.
The proposal would require illegal immigrants to pay a fine to apply for the “Z” visa, but despite that penalty, conservatives are likely characterize this deal as a major sell out to Kennedy and his pro-amnesty allies.
I wish that we could see what costs more: and extra ten cents for a head of lettuce or a lifetime of “entitlements” for illegal alien and family. Somehow, I get the feeling that the latter costs more.

- Illegal aliens are already filing “Earned Income Credit” refunds (and have for years using stolen SS numbers when filing for an IRS “EIC” - yet working off the books paying zero taxes and deductions) using stolen Social Security numbers and IDs - collecting thousands from the IRS without even reporting any income under their own names.
- Now President George W. Bush and Congress have “decreed” that illegal aliens will never have to pay any a unpaid back federal or state or city income taxes or Social Security or Medicare (not deducted for sure in their names!)
Yet they will all be instantly eligible available for Suplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid for being needy because of a “disablity” from accident, sickness, &/or age - Without ever being a US citizen or contributing one red cent into Social Security themselves in their own name(s).
And they will be allowed to retire on Social Security and with Medicare and the IRS will credit them for work the illegal aliens claim they did (for only 3 quarters?) using a stolen or countefeited or non-existent Social Security card/number yet not ever paying unpaid back income taxes, Social Security, Medicare deductions.
A little known fact is that today - this very minute - thousands of illegal aliens are already collecting SSI &/or Social Security using some honest hard working American citizen’s name and Social Security card/number.
And when that American goes to collect his/her Social Security or SAI or use Medicare or Medicaid the Social Security Administration, US Treasury, and IRS wil tell hem/her that they are not eligible as that is already being collected.
To top it off the same honest American citizen may also get a notice from the IRS and Federal Tax Courts that they have not paid the income taxes and Social Security deductions and Medicare deductions that the illegal alien(s) [sometimes 15 or more illegal aliens use the same SS number!] used to get a job using the same SS number.

That doesn't make sense. The SS number is attached to the individual who first received it. Unless the person who collects the money uses that name, there is no way they can collect it. Normally, the money is deposited into your bank account. You must produce all kinds of documents when you apply for your retirement benefits. I just did it two years ago.

One FReeper last night posted how illegal aliens on an electrical work crew bragged of filing IRS forms for EIC using stolen SS numvbers of an honest American citizen and getting big fat US Treasury checks for Earned Income Credits

I will tell you I know several building contractors and home restoration companies in a number of states that had illegal aliens approach them for “off the books” cash jobs
“You can get 3 of us for less than you pay 2 men! - No paperwork, not IRS, no federal, state or city taxes, no SS, no Worker’s Comp costs, no state Unemployment Fees to the state!”
All turned them down.
Within a week their job sites &/or construction shops were broken into and expensive power tools and building material “disappeared”

I wish I could give you specific examples of the “collecting” you mentioned - but my sources are from CPAs, law enforcement, a US Attorney, PIs, some IRS employees, SS, and a former Federal Judge in NC I used to use.
None are going to come forward and put things on the record
Once someone steals your ID it can take you 15 years to clean it up.
And it will cost you in credit, applying for loans, attorneys fees, etc., etc., etc......
Major credit bureaus do not care about you at all
And law enforcement, the IRS, SS will tell you that many professional ID thieves do this to a number of people and not many get nailed or are sent to prison.
Illegal aliens use illegal stolen or counterfeited IDs every day - some have 8-15 aliases
They use them for home mortgages, vehicle loans, etc.
If it gets “hot” they swap IDs, perhaps move - or even go back go Mexico or the Dominican Republic until things cool down -
The facts are the IRS and SS and DOJ and FBI do not have this on a high priority list
911, the Jersey Dix-Six, etc come first
Many illegal aliens may be uneducated - but illegal aliens and terrorists actually have “manuals” to use and groups and people that help them for various reasons - even some churches help them

As far as employing people myself - I would hire anyone who was honest and in the US legally - with no criminal record - who would do the same things I would do - or learn them fast
IF they could not perform I would not hire them
I’d take a hard working person with a 109 IQ (JFK’s IQ was only 109 I believe) over a 155 IQ most any day
I did not need slackers who knew better but would not produce results or “had a better way”
I know someone with a 187 IQ -
But I would not hire him
