Immigration Deal Would Grant Amnesty to Parents, Spouses and Children

It's amnesty. They must think the American people fell off a turnip truck yesterday. Illegals don't even need to meet minimum standards to get a "Z" Visa. What a joke!

Geez, I don't even really care about immigration as an issue, but there's something called the rule of law that's traditionally been important to conservatives that seems to be totally ignored here. If this is true, Bush is going to do a great job pissing off a large number of conservatives who up to this point haven't even been really conerned about the issue of immigration.

The voters don’t matter, the money does. Business “needs” illegals to keep wages down and profits up. So they spend a lot of money on both sides of the aisle to make it happen.

The only thing I’ve ever been able to think of is also detrimental to our lives but this is our country we are talking about. Short of a real rebellion we need to quit working. Walk off our jobs of which this government takes 30% or more of our pay. Maybe for a day, maybe a week, maybe for good. I know it’s a pipe dream but it’s all I can think of.

Which would be spun as "more jobs Americans won't do" and therefore we need more immigration.

If you enjoy Caldwell, you know that the left despises her. She figured out World and American politics a long time ago. I have almost all of her books. She can weave a great tale.

After a good night's sleep, I have decided that I will remain a Republican through the North Carolina primary in 2008. Whether I remain registered as a Republican will depend on what the GOP leadership does between now and then. If they continue down their current path, I am switching to either Independent or to the Constitution Party. The ONLY way I will vote for a GOP candidate in 2008 is if they nominate a conservative.

I’ve called and wrote many times on various issues, it almost always turns out the way the globalist direct policy.

I'll vote again, just not Republican. I don't believe in rewarding bad behavior, whether it's a child or a political party. This deal is rewarding illegal behavior, and will in fact encourage even more illegal behavior.

Well in that regard you are correct....it is simple. What is also simple is what history has shown. There is always a tipping point, and we are fast approaching it. They will only avoid, forestall, or eliminate it by getting rid of the second ammendment...which is one of the things that is certainly on the short list for them. Am I advocating revolution? not really, that is certainly a last ditch measure. Am I predicting the possibility of it in the foreseeable future? Oh yeah. Give the Dems an ‘08 victory, much higher taxes to pay for new programs, a resulting sluggish or depressed economy, along with millions of now legal whiners lining up for entitlements (handouts), and anything is possible.

Both parties deliberately let this become a really big problem, so that they could pretend to solve it.
If they had enforced the law this would not have become a big problem.
They do this with other things as well. They intentionally neglect an issue so that a mind-numbed public will more readily accept an unacceptable solution.

They did not say that. The poster merely said they would not be voting Republican. Are you suggesting that we keep supporting those betray us like a flock of mindless sheep? When do you say enough is enough? If the new amnesty bill does pass it may be the death of the Republican Party. The Dems win in ‘08 and I predict a period of economic depression, high taxes, inflation that would last 4 to 10 years before the pendulum swings back to the conservative side. It takes awhile for people to get REALLY fed up.
