I vividly remember hearing the first “on scene” reports — the reporters on several radio stations said, “it sounded like machine guns.”

There was a lot of shooting going on — no matter what the Warren Commission had to say.

After Governor Connally died, didn’t they ask his family if they could remove the bullet fragment that was in his knee for comparison but were rebuffed? I always thought that the fact that there was a piece still in his body was proof enough that more happened that day than we have been told.

Chemical and forensic analysis of JFK assassination bullet lots: Is a second shooter possible?

It’s the next to last link at this URL:

It just opens as a PDF without any URL. Any interest in converting it to HTML? Adios

Not that I want to see them, but just from what you can see on the Zapruder film, I think that it’s pretty evident that the hole would be huge.

Thanks for the ping! It'd be interesting if it were possible to use this new methodology to compare the bullet fragments with the shell casings from the TSBD. Some of the more interesting research I've read touching on some issues related to that:

Allan Eaglesham, "THE "SNIPER'S NEST": INCARNATIONS AND IMPLICATIONS "

Vincent Michael Palamara, "The Secret Service and CE 399"

Okay, you got me confused. If the second shot hit JFK in the throat, and Oswald generally fired all shots from behind, then how does he get a frontal head shot?

The first bullet missed and hit a curb. The bullet fragments or concrete hit a man named James Tague who was standing near the underpass. That bullet or fragments were never found.
The second bullet traveled 2000 fps to hit the president 5 1/2inches [14 Centimeters]below the Mastoid Process[there’s a picture of the hole and the ruler The bullet wound also exhibited a Halo Effect which is a ring around a typical high speed bullet entrance wound], it hit no bones and exited out his neck[1772 to 1,779 feet per second] clipping his tie[photos of the tie]. It traveled 28 inches away[trajectory report]to hit Connelly near the right armpit[Doctor’s report] clipping his rib[Doctor’s report]and keyholed out his chest
leaving a 2 inch by 1/2 inch wound [Doctor’s report]. Connelly’s label moves outward. [Zapruder film] At this point it had only hit one bone and is now flying sideways when it hit the wrist [3/4 inch wound] and buries itself in a shallow wound[very little soft tissue damage,[Doctor’s report] in the thigh leaving an amount of lead in the thigh. The amount of lead in the wrist and the bullet add up to the original weight of 161 grains which is the same amount of the bullets from the Western Ammunition Company. Connelly had a broken rib bone and wrist bone. {Doctor’s report]. Cloth from his clothing was found in his wrist.

The third bullet hit Kennedy in the back of the head toward the right side forcing his head to move forward by approximately two inches. The bullet broke into two pieces at the bullet’s cannelure. One piece cracked the inside of the windshield near the mirror. The second fragment hit the chrome strip at the top of the windshield. There are photographs in evidence of the crack and the dent. The two pieces were found at the front of the limousine, one on the floorboard and the other on the seat. The Zapruder film shows Kennedy’s head moving approximately two to three inches forward at the moment of impact. The photographs of Kennedy’s head and skull show a small entrance hole and a large exit hole. Cratering of the hole at the back of the skull is typical of entrance holes. [Autopsy Report]

There was no frontal shot. The rule is small hole in, large hole out. It’s not like Hollywood and massive entrance wounds. The bullet also pushed Kennedy’s head two inches toward the front. It’s only afterwards he moves to the rear. Connelly also hits the rear of the front seat.

Oliver Stone’s movie reversed the impact. I was at Dealy Plaza and one of the vendors had a screen shot of the movie and the frame from Zapruder’s film. The two examples were reversed from each other. Stone’s had a frontal shot and Zapruder’s film has the correct entrance at the rear.

I know it was you on the grassy knoll. Your sister told me you weren’t in your fifth grade classroom all day long. Sooner or later you’ll have to ‘fess up.

Now-deceased University of California at Irvine chemist Vincent P. Guinn told the 1976 House Select Committee on Assassinations that he used bullet lead analysis to conclude that the five bullet fragments recovered from the Kennedy assassination scene came from just two bullets, which were traced to the same batch of bullets Oswald owned.
Guinn's conclusions were consistent with the 1960s Warren Commission Report that found Oswald had acted alone.

Tobin, Spiegelman and James said they bought the same brand and lot of bullets used by Oswald and analyzed their lead using the new standards.

The bullets from that batch are still on the market as collectors' items.
They found that the scientific and statistical assumptions Guinn used -- and the government accepted at the time -- to conclude that the fragments came from just two bullets fired from Oswald's gun were wrong.

"This finding means that the bullet fragments from the assassination that match could have come from three or more separate bullets," the researchers said.
"If the assassination fragments are derived from three or more separate bullets, then a second assassin is likely," the researchers said. If the five fragments came from three or more bullets, that would mean a second gunman's bullet would have had to strike the president, the researchers explained.

Sounds like reasonable new evidence, and a reasonable, rational request to make new tests on old evidence.

Why do so many here object?

Could it be that the lone gunman theorists are just as zealous as those who reject Specters 'magic bullet'?

Wrong.

Wrong.

Wrong.

Forward two inches on impact.

Don’t get your information from Hollyweird. They weren’t making a documentary.

True, although I still get a kick out of Tommy Lee Jones and Kevin Bacon in that film:

Agreed.

Thanks Hal.. -- We disagree on a lot of minor points about 'conspiracies'; - but it's nice to see you call for new tests.

Performance-wise, the movie is terrific. However, content and writing, it’s a piece of steaming crap. It’s like an expensive house furnished out of the city dump.
