A group of high-school students and community activists disrupted a Seattle School Board meeting Wednesday evening, storming to the speaker's podium and demanding to address the board.
Board President Cheryl Chow repeatedly told them that they were out of order and recessed the meeting for about 20 minutes. The protesters later said they were frustrated at not being able to address the board during public testimony.
Some had called early Monday to sign up to speak against military recruiting in schools. But because others had asked to speak about the district's proposed elementary math textbook adoption, one of the items on the agenda, they were given preference.
The protesters were cheered by about 35 audience members who held signs throughout the meeting, urging the district to choose a different principal for African American Academy. Several of those audience members had also signed up to speak on that topic, but were likewise bumped.
It can be fun watching liberals fight with each other.
Why have order when chaos serves their cause? LIBS on LIBS fighting, gotta love it?
I gather nobody was protesting gay/lesbian brainwashing of their kids.
HUH?
The one they had was probably “not black enough”.
What a name for a school.
No white people allowed?
