Detroit council urges Bush impeachment

The Detroit City Council called for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, unanimously passing a resolution sponsored by a Democratic congressman's wife.

The nonbinding resolution, approved Wednesday, says Bush and Cheney conspired to defraud the United States by "intentionally misleading Congress and the public regarding the threat from Iraq in order to justify the war."

It was sponsored by Councilwoman Monica Conyers. Her husband, U.S. Rep. John Conyers (news, bio, voting record), is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, where any impeachment proceedings would start. He has said he does not intend to move forward with any impeachment effort.

Why did you single me out jerkoff? Many here are calling for impeachment. I’d take it a step further and call for the removal of all of these traitors, both sides of the isle, top to bottom. Try and keep your flaming botism under control. Blackbird.

Was every westwern intel agency in also lying when they agreed with the CIA assessment?

Damn fools have a political lust for getting Bush disgraced even though he was trying to do the right thing.

My tagline still holds true.

I’m with ya. I’d call for impeachment too over giving away our country to invaders. It’s really his main job and he can’t even do that.

This is an unfortunate turn of events. Now, should articles of impeachment be brought, the chairman would have to recuse himself due to this clear conflict of interest.

Can anything good come from Detroit?..

I did! But seriously, the city is viewed as a laughing-stock and doesn't even know it. This is only making its image much worse.

Yes, lots of high-end suburbs.  They boomed in growth after the riots.

Detroit was once America's 4th largest city approaching 2 million, now it doesn't even make the top ten.

Some of Detroit's 'burbs are among the wealthiest in the nation.

hateful lunatic? I’m proud to be a hateful lunatic right with you. Most Americans that love their country would justifiably be “hateful lunatics” over what this administration and the lackeys on the Hill have just done to this country.

“You would think they would have more important things to do. They really should work on local issues, after all isn’t that why they were elected?”

I wasn’t aware Bush held any office in Detroit... oh, wait, he doesn’t... I’ll bet this is more meaningless grandstanding from the usual Hallelujah Chorus, isn’t it?
