Detroit council urges Bush impeachment
The Detroit City Council called for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, unanimously passing a resolution sponsored by a Democratic congressman's wife.
The nonbinding resolution, approved Wednesday, says Bush and Cheney conspired to defraud the United States by "intentionally misleading Congress and the public regarding the threat from Iraq in order to justify the war."

I remember about a year or so ago on a private political discussion board I was blasting Detroit for its corruption and Stalinist rodent “leadership.” One of those Stalinist Detroit State Reps. saw my comments and decided to chime in, telling me how “wrong” I was and how the city had bounced back and was better than ever. A few weeks later, the Rep. was indicted for corruption.
Detroit is doing better than it was during the late 1980’s and 1990’s, but that isn’t much to brag about.
I’ve lived in the Detroit area, and it’s a hole. Seems like all of Michigan is a hole into which we pour money. Thanks especially to Stabenow, Levin, Granholm, and Conyers. I so wish I could leave.
I understand that Governor Granholm has become unpopular with Michigan voters. That could provide the GOP with an opening in 2008, if they choose a good candidate.
