Around much celebration, the U.S. Senate announced on Thursday that a deal had been reached on comprehensive immigration reform. As I heard the details of the bill, I could feel the collective groans of the conservative movement, just as if we were all punched in the stomach. Why did we work so hard to build Republican majorities? Why did we spend so many hours at phone banks or going door to door? The past six years have seen an erosion of everything weve worked for, and now our leaders give us immigration reform.
Good breakdown on the bill and politico's positions here: http://www.gopusa.com/theloft/?p=458
OK. So how come it didn’t show up in a search, or did we post nearly simultaneously?
Thank you. Obviously, I am hot-link challenged!
It was originally posted over an hour ago, but FR’s ‘search’ facility seems to have a lot of problems on this kind of thing...why, I don’t know.
( No one seems to be thinking of the North to South exodus that will accompany this boondoggle.)
Already contacted both of mine. I do not know how either stands on this, but the current pair from Tennessee seem to have RINO leanings, so I am suspicious.
Does anyone have a headcount in the Senate on approve/disapprove? Don’t think only of party. There are a handful of Dem Senators opposed.
Both of them send me back an email stating that they only accept emails posted on the web-based email form on their senate web sites. Cannot accept emails from third parties or websites other than the senate web site.
Nice way to avoid coordinated protests.
What if the criminal aliens, crooks, terrorists and narco-gangsters dont want amnesty? Why should they? Wouldnt they have to pay taxes? How can you force criminals to become citizens? Why would you? If these people really wanted to be real citizens they wouldnt use phony IDs.
NO AMNESTY for Employers or Employees!
Hmmm, shall I contact Feingold or Kohl...I don’t have enough free time to waste contacting both.
You'd be better off on your knees and praying.
I'm not letting this country down without a fight, while they're giving it away.
This whole thing offers the pretense of effective and efficient government, which I know doesn’t exist.
