Rush: Immigration Bill Will Kill GOP
NewsMax.com ^ | May 18, 2007 | staff

Supporters call it a Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill, but top radio talker Rush Limbaugh has another name for it. He calls it the "Comprehensive Destroy the Republican Party Bill."

During Friday's syndicated broadcast of the Rush Limbaugh program, Rush criticized the Senate's immigration proposal as liberalism gone wild.

"Liberals are trying to tear this country down institution by institution and rebuild it in their own image, and this is one of the steps that they are trying to make it happen," he said.

Rush warned that if this bill comes out of the Senate in its present form - and it's highly doubtful that it will - the liberals in the House will not vote for it. He said the politicians realize that there are Democrats in California, Arizona, Texas and Virginia where illegal immigration is a red hot issue and a vote for this bill would be political suicide.

As for Republicans, they have already lost California, Rush reminded his listeners. If they lose Virginia and lose Florida, it's all over for the GOP as far as elections go. And being blamed for this immigration bill could cost them both states.

Rush explained that this is why Senate Democrats want Republicans to receive "credit" for passing this bill.

"It's a piece of legislation that hardly anybody has ever seen," he said, yet already "there are walls of opposition that are being built on all sides of this."

The bill, he warned, will create "a brand new, giant welfare state paid by the rest of us," yet illegal immigrants are telling the media: "'I don't like this. I don't like having to go home. I don't want to pay these fines.'"

They needn't worry, Rush said. The illegals will not be forced to go home at all. They are not going to pay any fines. It's not going to happen because there is no political will to do so.

"Once this bill passes they'll be talking about how if you have to go home it will split up families and they'll say the fines would be taking food out of the mouths of poor children by making the parents pay these ridiculous fines," Rush told his audience.

Speaking of why any Republicans are supporting the bill, Rush explained: "You could legalize rape in this country if you simply called it the Civil Rights Act of 2007 because nobody on Capitol Hill has the guts to vote against anything that claims to be broadening or creating civil rights. It's a code word."

Laura Ingraham was saying the same thing today. Her callers were overwhelmingly voting for Duncan Hunter on her quote of the day.

These Repub idiots are sacrificing their political futures and they don’t even seem to realize it.

They will be boiled alive by their own party.

Look how amnesty tipped the balance of power in CA. CA was once one of the most reliable GOP states prior to 1986. Reagan won it twice and Bush 1 carried it in 1988. Thanks to the registration of illegals and others who are not supposed to vote, CA is now one of the most reliable blue states, so is New York.

Texas is next. With this new crackpot bill, Texas will be lost forever and there goes the GOP.

What will kill the GOP is this kind of attitude and the knee-jerk reaction against the need to develop a comprehensive immigration policy. The latest census data, published in the NYTimes Wednesday, shows starkly that the % of Hispanics and other minorities rises with each younger age group. In the youngest age group, they are a majority. Only the over 65s have a majority white population. Right Now!! Whining about the immigration plan doesn’t change the demography. If you really want to see the death knell of the Republican party, ignore the need to expand the tent to include these minority groups. I am ashamed of this ridiculous response. I admire and support Bush on this because he is behaving as an adult, not some spoiled adolescent stamping his foot.

DeMint is looking at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He’d be wise to run for Governor when Sanford retires in 2010. Then in 2016, President. He’d be 65 then.

"These Repub idiots are sacrificing their political futures and they don’t even seem to realize it."

They have NO political future and they know it. But what they do have is the payoff from big business so they can retire to a gated community with the rest of the elites. The reason they have no political future is because they have sold this country out to Soros and the rest of the socialists who will be naming their boys to the unelected positions that will have the real power once the Republic is destroyed and we're merged into the social utopia.

Oops, forgot the context, which is that Jim DeMint seems to be taking point on leading the charge against this. He’d also be an interesting VP choice for Romney.

Rush kept driving the point home today that once Bush signs this into law, forget the penalties and the going home stuff, the illegals are NOW LEGAL. End of story.

What will kill France, the Netherlands, is this kind of attitude and the knee-jerk reaction against the need to develop a comprehensive immigration policy. The latest census data, shows starkly that the % of Muslims and other minorities rises with each younger age group. In the youngest age group, they are a majority. Only the over 65s have a majority Christian/Secular population. Right Now!! Whining about the immigration plan doesn’t change the demography. If you really want to see the death knell of the Republican/Elitist/Financial/Country Club party, ignore the need to expand the tent to include these minority groups. I am ashamed of this ridiculous response. I admire and support Chirac on this because he is behaving as an adult, not some spoiled adolescent stamping his foot.

As Laura Ingraham said this morning, the illegal alien activists already hate Bush, and he’s the one pushing for this.

These "minorities" will NEVER vote either Republican or conservative in any significant number. They come here from socialist countries to escape socialism, and the first thing they do is vote to establish socialism here.

The solution is NOT to bring in more of the same sort. What we SHOULD be allowing to enter our country are folks who have educations and job skills---not more "leaf-blower drivers".
