Dear Friends, we want to inform you that again a homeschooling family in Germany is under severe pressure. The Dudek family from German state of Hesse is threatened to be send to prison because of homeschooling their children. Different from most of the other German states in Hessia, homeschooling fulfills the facts of a criminal offence. In most of the other states it is only an administrative offence. The following information is a translation of an article which appears yesterday in the local newspaper.

How long before it happens here?
These Germans have a nerve.
They point their fingers at Russia for some perceived slights but they are far worse when it comes to how they treat their own.
Not long, if a certain person gets elected in 08.
Even if not, maybe.
The fear that someone might escape their socialists public education program is putting them in all in a lather.
That’s the scary thing. We don’t know. It sounds like a Nazi type government snatching children from their parents or forcing the children to be indoctrinated in government schools. It’s horrible. The way the hate crimes legislation is going through here, I fear it may come down to limiting free speech in private schools to liberal ideas or forcing children to attend the public school system.
Check Cali for possible similarities already water under the bridge.
That’s exactly what it is. Germany never repealed this Nazi-era law.
PING!!!!!
This is a old American myth. The first law concerning the so called "Schulpflicht" was the "Principia regulativa" of King Friedrich Wilhelm I., (1717) in Prussia. This was approved by the "Generallandschulreglement" of Frederic the Great in 1763 (for Prussia) and followed i.e. by laws in 1802 (in Bavaria) or 1835 (in Saxonia). The law of 1938 just was in the line of a very old legal tradition and has nothing to do with nazism. It is indeed funny to me when some (not all!) people in America use nazism -without understanding anything of it- as their surrogate religion for everything they think it is evil.
