LAHORE, Pakistan — Police arrested a wife and her husband — a woman who underwent gender reassignment surgery 16 years ago — and accused them of lying about the husband's gender to a court in eastern Pakistan.
The case — which casts a rare public spotlight on the taboo subject of transsexualism in this conservative country — came to the attention of the authorities after the bride's father appealed to the High Court in the city of Lahore to annul his daughter's wedding, saying it was against Islam for two women to marry.
Police arrested Shumail Raj, 31, and Shahzina Tariq, 26, on Sunday, said Aslam Tareen, a senior police officer.

Gender reassignment at age 15?
This is one case where I am in total alignment with the Pakistanis. I think they carry things too far but we have went too far the other direction. We have situations now when teenage kids who are prone to identity issues are being approved for gender reassignment.
I’m so old I can remember when a blown “tranny” could only refer to an automotive problem. For a long time I thought GLBT was some kind of sandwich — oh excuse me, I guess it is!

The surhery was 16 years ago, given that, the one that underwent surgery was still a child, hmmm, and I wonder where this surgery took place.
He was probably born a morphidite and they waited till puberty too see wich sex was dominate.

You think transsexuals should be arrested?
I think they should not be able to become transsexuals to begin with. I think the doctors should be arrested.
Why would you infer that? Sharia law like any has common elements with laws many would accept. The problem is that it is not law made through the citizenry in a free republic.
We had laws not much different than some of those before the sexual devolution.
That would be a different classification. Sex reassignment for a hemorphidite does not a transexual make. If that is the case they are using the wrong terminology.
