Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (news, bio, voting record), R-Texas, who also opposed opening debate, announced she would seek to alter the bill to mandate that illegal immigrants go back to their home countries before gaining legal status.

I’m all for dumping and replacing the in-your-face arrogant politicans, too. In a bipartisan way of course.
The political jerks (read: traitors) need their feet held to the fire. It should be clear that the only candidates that should be supported should be for deportation and border security. For me that is the single most important issue. That is the one thing that could destroy this country.
We can lose buildings and prevail - the American spirit cannot be destroyed by stupid terrorists - but we cannot lose our culture! Amnesty would be our end.

And each time they do, our citizens are getting more and more pissed off at the illegal aliens and, especially, at our corrupt and completely worthless political class. About 90% of them deserve to be removed from office.
Use this delay as extra time to twist the thumbscrews and raise hell.

Go to www.senate.gov, find your senators and FAX (if you have a fax) to each of their district offices. The phone lines are jammed. Fax the dems too, they need to know we are out here!
I’m sorry...isn’t it bad that they invoked cloture since now we can’t fillibuster it? It only needs 50 votes to pass (with a Cheney tiebreaker) now. I know that everyone thinks that this will go by the House in a different version and then go to conference and come back to the Sinate (not a spelling error), but I think there will be a whole lot of pressure from this bill’s proponents to pass the bill unchanged in the House so that it doesn’t have to go through the Sinate and risk being fillibustered again.
Are my fears unfounded?
