He is against amnesty so I take that to mean they will remain criminals. I think his stand on closing the borders to stem the tide of illegals coming across the border is the right first thing to do. There are illegals being arrested every day and deported. We have had raids and arrests here in N.D. so I know it is going on. This is an ongoing battle just like the WOT.

Rep. Hunter was on Larry King last night. He was one of a panel discussing the illegal immigration bill. Of all the people there, Larry King managed to continually interrupt Rep.Hunter, calling him Duncan most of the time, while addressing the junior Congressman as Congressman always. I don’t recall it being said that Rep. Hunter was running for President, but I could have missed it. I understand King regularly runs over Conservatives as a hobby.

At any rate, they stayed on subject the entire hour. Always the gentleman, but Rep. Hunter did insist on having his say, so hooray for him! He’s not one to roll over. We need a leader who will stand to fight!

GO DUNCAN HUNTER!

This doesn't answer my questions.

What is Hunter's plan to deport all the illegals?

Where does he get the 12 million figure?

Also -- if, as Hunter suggests, all segments of the border fence can be built simultaneously by multiple contractors each completing a segment, then why can't border security and deportation of illegal aliens both be done simultaneously?

I didn’t answere those question because I don’t have those answers. You need to direct those questions to the Hunter campaign. I just believe that if he is right about those things he has talked about that he is likely to be right about the issues he hasn’t covered yet. As far as the 12 million figure, I have seen numbers anywhere from 10 to 20 million. No one has any idea how many illegals are here.

Sam Hunter posts here to answere questions, maybe we could get him to answer your questions.

I remember 1980 so well. Everybody in the media and many in government were saying Reagan was "too extreme" to get elected. Then he won by a landslide. Twice.

BUMP! Precisely.

Me too. And it was the cross-over issue of national security being foremost that got the "Reagan Democrats". And to which Duncan Hunter has proven he is an effective campaigner for.

He can do it. If we just get the rest of the Reagan coalition to recall itself to its "right mind."

Several points --

It's dangerous to assume we know any politician's position or plan on an issue when he hasn't stated it.

The figures I have seen range from 10 million to 40 million, with "consensus" forming around 20 million.

When Sam Hunter is running for president, I'll ask him about these issues. Until then, I'll ask Duncan Hunter.

And if his answer is vague or evasive, I will know his position anyway.

And why does he keep repeating his "12 million" figure? At this point, that number seems to be ridiculously low.

Its rather apparent. He obviously knows that its more like 20-30 million already. He is just using the Liberals and RINOs own admitted numbers so that he can focus on the real issues of policy difference

Emphasizing the dispute over the actual scope of the millions of invaders distracts from the short sound-bite of time he has to get his points on policy out.

In other words...Duncan is being an effective campaigner.

Something the RINOs try and deny.

With dial-up, I don’t get You-Tube too well, but I will be listening to Laura Ingraham’s radio replay of this morning’s show on WABC tonight, between 10 PM - 1 AM.

Anybody who has dial-up, and would like to listen, you can also listen to WABC radio online, if you can’t get it on your radio.

Thankyou for your theory on why DH uses that figure.

I suppose it's as plausible as any other.

I think Hunter would be a good candidate, BUT the MSM isn’t going to give him the time of day. He can’t get enough exposure on conservative talk radio to make him recognizable to the masses. Fred Thompson is already recognizable and also an excellent choice. We can’t win unless we nominate someone who is able to sway the American people in spite of the Gregorys, Blitzers, Russerts and the rest of their ilk.

Since I don’t have cable, dial-up might be the only thing that’s available to me.

“Besides donating to his presidential campaign and talking him up to friends and family, if each of us Hunter supporters would identify one local conservative talk show host (CTSH) that broadcasts in our home area ..”

GREAT IDEA!

I contacted Hannity’s producer, and FoxNews, and received a reply from Hannity’s, and Hunter was on Hanity’s at least twice, including yesterday.

They are listening to us.

“I think Hunter would be a good candidate, BUT the MSM isn’t going to give him the time of day. ..”

When Duncan Hunter wins the GOP primaries, even MSM will have to give him coverage.

Please vote for him in the PRIMARIES, and tell your CONSERVATIVE friends.
