...oh yeah, and the bees may all die, crops will start dying, water will be an international commodity, the Gulf of Mexico reaching up to Missouri, flooding all along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers, and locusts.

OK, not locusts, but everything else was mentioned.

Unless we elect a Democrat Congress and President, of course. Then everything will be fine.

And if it somehow came true....

How, exactly, would it be bad to flood NYC and LA?

The government would have to rebuild them, just like NO.

This damn thing reads like an infomercial!

Keep informed, stay in touch with your departments, check in on environmental issues and concerns through the new web site at the Center for Environmental Science at SLU. We aim to be at the forefront of guiding the national response to changing environmental conditions, determining the best way for humanity to respond to a changing planet. We need you to keep in contact, tell us your experiences, and be a light to the nation

Since when does a commencement address blatantly advertise sheesh.

I hope the point these graduates took with them is....."The World will change, deal with it"

Instead I'm sure it resulted in a room full of chicken littles.

Fear mongering only works on the illiterate and the under-educated and the doped-up.

You just described college students.

Will the degrees you have earned in Arts and Sciences help you deal with the degrees of global warming that are predicted for the planet?

I love this stuff!

The rapidly changing environment is posing special challenges to your generation on a scale that no other generation in history has had to face.

Well OK, except for Noah's generation and that rain thingy and that generation of northern Europeans who saw glaciers moving slowly towards them and had to start walking south.

"The poles are going to melt!"

The north pole looks pretty frozen on May 22nd. Lots of snow and ice left yet.

The south pole, as well, looks pretty frozen with the southern ocean frozen for 100s of kilometres out from Antarctica. No ships going into Antarctica this time of year.
