ZIMBABWEAN soldiers could starve if the government does not intervene with a financial rescue plan before the end of June, MPs were told on Tuesday.

Hungry guys with guns. Hungry guys with guns...

What a nice thought!
Now if we could only make certain that the Zim government would starve shortly thereafter...

"For rations, we were allocated $32 billion" Lol $32,000,000,000ZIM. What is that? Like $1.99? I wouldn't trade a 20oz of Coke and a bag of doritos for $32 billion worthless Zim dollars.

The country can’t do worse. An up and coming general could reverse things simply by undoing the insanity of Mugabe’s “land reforms”.

What’s your take?

Honestly, what makes a country a prosperous nation? It's the work ethic of the people and a government that enables the people to shine and prosper.

If a military General took over, it would be worse. He would take food to feed his men, raping and pillaging is inevitable.

There is a deeper problem; the ugly truth is the indigenous people do not know how to run a country. They do not know how to run a farm. The youth are filled with hatred towards the whites and only know how to blame and take.

We hear in America are blessed with a culture that values hard work and personal property. We value freedom and liberty. Even though these institutions are threatened daily, and we don’t always get along, they still exist. This long standing tradition was fostered in our colonial infancy and spread out across the fruited plain as we expanded.

There was no room for the Indians in our culture, we displaced the well.

Zimbabwe, when it was Rhodesia, was an extremely prosperous colony and a budding nation, despite stiff sanctions during the war in the 70’s. Western guilt forced the European government to hand over the right to rule to the natives blacks. This happened long before they were ready to assume the power. It would be akin to passing the authority to govern to the Indians after the American war of Independence.

The result is what you see, a wholly dysfunctional government, ruled by a people who do not have the cultural heritage required to run a prosperous nation.

I wonder what ever happened to the “Breadbasket of Africa”?

It's now the "Basketcase of Africa."

I remember in the late 70s hearing a performing group singing paeans to both "Fidel!" and Zimbabwe. Liberalism -- destraoys all that it touches.

Awww. Starve the guys with all the guns and see what happens. Even Stalin made sure the Red Army ate while millions starved.

For a while yet. If McCain-Feingold can become law, nothing is secure.

You got that right.

Ian Smith was Hitler reincarnated.

The Brittish put all their might into removing him.

Everyone knew Mugabe was marxist who was getting help from Moscow and that group in SA.

Tragic history.

It has now moved to New Zealand.

Armies don’t starve. Ever.

At the very least, they starve LAST.

Yup.

Ian Smith was Hitler reincarnated....How so? Was Hitler desparately trying to keep 5.5% of a population alive and well from virtual cannibals?

Stand by for a show of extreme racial bigotry by the Left in this country — who claim they believe all cultures are equal, in evolution and that Mother Nature shouldn’t be fooled or messed with..

Their bigotry will be demonstrated by a demand that we once again take up the “white man’s burden” in Zimbabwe - since these poor blacks simply can never take care of themselves, even though they stole the richest and most productive farms and economy in Africa....

Then we will be asked to feed these folks - when by “natural selection”, “evolution” and “Mother Nature’s way of culling the herd - they should be allowed to perish...

Frankly speaking — if an Army is willing to stand by and let a lunatic who raped and destroyed a nation, starve them to death - perhaps they deserve to die both hungry and stupid.
