IDAHO CITY -- Fourteen illegal immigrants were arrested and face deportation after being picked up at an Idaho City hotel.
It happened late Tuesday night and now they're in the Ada County Jail.
The men were working for a contracted employee of the U.S. Forest Service.
They had been working for about 10 days, with one week left.
According to the Forest Service, the contracted employer is Cutting Edge Forestry Inc. out of Talent, Oregon.
The contractor is required to turn over paperwork regarding their employees and then the Forest Service sends that paperwork to the immigration office.
It’s there that officials realized the men were in the country illegally.
Fourteen of Cutting Edge's 16 employees on the job site were arrested at the Idaho City hotel for not having proper documentation.
The men were planting 500 acres of the forest, a portion of the 11,000 acres that burned in the Hot Creek Fire back in July 2003.
As spokesperson for Immigration and Customs Enforcement says they are focusing efforts on contracted employees since they tend to travel from job site to job site.
The Ada County Jail recently contracted with the immigration office to detain illegal immigrants while they wait for deportation.
The friends of Bush and the Congress -— they want them overrunning America. So what is the problem with a few out of tens of millions??? What a disaster for America.

How many illegals in the US? Enough to populate the State of Oregon 4 to 5 times over. They are everywhere here in Oregon and they are taking up our bread-and-butter jobs, not just the one that Americans are just too good to do themselves. They work as tree planters all over this state. They have displaced nearly all of the American employees at this job. Twenty years ago, almost all tree planters were just local people doing a job that they were thankful to have. Just another field of employment that has witnessed the door of opportunity being slammed shut in the faces of deserving American citizens. From the seafood processing plants to our faltering construction business; from fast food restaurants to tourist traps, they suck up our jobs like a Hoover vacuum cleaner with a turbocharger and overdrive gear. Send them ALL back where they unwelcomely came from in the first place.

Years ago, while my son was in college, he planted trees one summer. He was the only non-hispanic on the crew. Couldn’t understand a word of spanish so never knew what they were talking about. Some fun.
