But I want to put it in perspective by saying that we process 80 million air travelers every year coming through our airports, so we already deal with a very large volume of people that we are screening to let them come into the country legally. " Oh boy, if they are using TSA as a model...
BTW, TSA employees themselves may not have a complete background check and still push baggage.

IMO Secretary Chertoff redefines the oldie “empty suit” description.
This guy is so far out of touch with reality, that this Administration will be long gone before Chertoff even begins to grasp the basic tenets of executive leadership.
All in all, a pathetic Washington insider POS — who serves our Republic dismally.

Chertoff is very smart and is usually way ahead of his questioners. They have worked hard on a system to screen and track visitors. Remember the Egyptian students who got away from their group? Not only did they know it, but they found them.

I read nothing of this article. I would turn the channel as we did Bubba & The Hildabeast for 8 yrs just as listening to Chertoff or Tony Snow or the rest of the whores. Let’s make sure that we don’t trust any of these fakes with our existence on this earth. Speak up this month or kiss your LIFE good-by. Think then about the children & grand children you are responsible for. Please God bless us here in America.

“MC: What I’m saying to you is we’re underway now doing about 75 miles of “new fence.””
750 authorized, 75 being done. Great. Leaves only about 1600 miles unfenced.
Maybe by 2009 we will be done with the 750 miles.
How about we WAIT on amnesty until the fence is done?
