Voting for Amnesty [Mark Krikorian]
Sen. Vitter's amendment to strike the amnesty section from the bill was defeated this evening, but it might be an informative vote nonetheless for concerned citizens contacting their senators over the Memorial Day break. It was the first vote focused just on the question of whether we should give legal status to illegal aliens; it lost 66-29. Republicans voting against it i.e., specifically voting for immediate amnesty were Bennett, Burr, Chambliss, Coleman, Collins, Cornyn, Craig, Domenici, Ensign, Graham, Gregg, Hagel, Hutchison, Isakson, Kyl, Lott, Lugar, Martinez, McCain, Murkowski, Smith, Snowe, Specter, Stevens, Voinovich, and Warner.

Most of those names look like those of RINOs, but I thought Cornyn and Hutchison were anti-amnesty. Hard to believe any of these people at this point.

A bunch of RINOs.

Here is a web site updated daily to help you keep up with which way each Senator is leaning on this bill: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pFxLatuUYpOqtqZ2cnZEsJA&gid=1
Call everyone of them and raise h*ll. I'm also faxing the repubs with this:
NoConfidenceVote
* You make promises to get elected.
* You make law that you wont enforce.
* You dont enforce current laws regarding illegal immigration.
* You make secret back room deals (or allow them to happen) that undermine our country.
* You pander to the lobbyists and other special interest groups
* You dont stand up to the opposition.
* You ignore your oath of office to defend our country and constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic
..but you arent.
* You are NOT listening to your constituents or the majority of the American people.
I have lost all confidence in you and your service in Congress to do what you were elected to do and is in the best interest of We, the People, citizens of this United States of America.
Rush said ealier today that they now had 60 votes to pass this. They only needed 51. We have a few days to sway a few. We have to let them know what we think.

Everyone knows about how State Farm bought off Trent Lott don't they?
Oh, they don't.
He keeps voting that way and the story is going to be all over the place.

Aagin, here’s a method you can employ when you do make those calls -
Chances are that the person who takes your call is an entry-level, front office person. They are capable, young, and eager, and they note and report the trends of callers, but to be more effective do this:
Ask to speak with whoever handle immigration issues in the office. This person will be a legislative assistant, and his/her job is to develop the issue for the member and advise them on votes.
As you may guess, those people are incredibly busy right now, so you may get only the voice mail. Leave your message. To be maximally effective, remain polite and professional. Leave the hysterics to the moonbats. They are easily dismissed. Thoughtful, professional comments cannot be dismissed.
Important! Follow up your calls with an email to the office, or if there’s a place to post on their websites, by all means, do that.
You are in a tug of war right now, but you might think it’s with the illegals’ lobby and supporting dot orgs. To a minor extent, that’s true — but the members know that they can’t vote...yet.
Frankly, you are in a tug-of-war with the WH, and frankly Uncle Carl, who’s got the members scared sh*tless that if we don’t get an immigration compromise, the Republican Party is demographically doomed.
That’s the deal. So pour it on folks.
BTW, if this doesn’t work, we have a sure-fire method that will get their attention, but I don’t think we need to discuss that just yet.

Most of those names look like those of RINOs, but I thought Cornyn and Hutchison were anti-amnesty. Hard to believe any of these people at this point. In order to be able to introduce some procedural motions (e.g., a motion to reconsider), one has to be voting in the majority on the initial vote. Someone may be voting for strategic reasons; however, that at most excuses one or two of the Senators on that list.

Use this phone number for a direct line to your senators offices.
Mexican Amnesty Activists Have A Direct Line to OUR Senators!
Posted on 05/24/2007 8:44:47 AM PDT by Scarpetta For those of you having difficulty getting thru to your senator, here is the 800 # paid for by the Mexican Amnesty Activists: 800-882-2005 This will get you directly to your senator unlike the #'s available to the US Citizen. Press 1 when you hear a Spanish message, then Press 1 again to be transferred to your senior senator's office OR Press 2 when you hear a Spanish message, and you'll be transferred to your junior senator's office. You get through immediately and the call is paid for by the enemy!

I don’t care how they voted on anything else. I hope every one of them lose in the next primary. This amnesty will only encourage more of the same. These clowns act as if we can afford to provide welfare state benefits to anyone who gets here from the entire planet.
