Our backyard is still a lake, but our Golden Retriever puppy is happy about this. He’s convinced that we had it installed especially for him to run around in, and anti-retrieve my door mat to (why does that dog insist on dragging the door mat to the knee deep part and then look to me to retrieve it?!). As I type, he is tossing his stuffed fox into the water, then jumping in after it.
When my weather bug chirped at me about 30 min ago we had 5 flood warnings/watches up. Down to two now (I’m thinking some of them were repeats of the same ones or something).

I bet Belton Lake isn’t down anymore...

Here is an AP article I just saw, complete with a video: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070526/ap_on_re_us/plains_storms

I know what you mean. Our horse, um, 5 month old newfie mutt loves all the mud. He and our other mutt have tracked it all over the house and onto the beds. Bounce, splash, bounce!!!

This is the kind of weather that brings snakes into unusual areas. Be careful when you go into quiet areas of your property. Don’t be surprised to find them in your garage or animal shelters.
