IRS Caters To Illegal Immigrants - 36 million illegal aliens perhaps?

IRS Caters To Illegal Immigrants

Illustrating a schizophrenic relationship between two major government agencies, a record number of illegal immigrants will file taxes with the Internal Revenue Service before next week’s deadline as they avoid a Homeland Security Department that supposedly strives to deport them.

The bizarre contradiction among two federal agencies sends mixed messages about the U.S. Government’s seriousness in enforcing its own laws, with one agency threatening to crack down on illegal aliens and the other actually accommodating the same violators.

About a decade ago the IRS created a special Individual Tax Identification Number (TIN) for “foreigners” who don’t qualify for a Social Security number but want to file taxes. The agency has so far issued 10.7 million TINs, including 1.5 million last year alone. Many illegal immigrants also use the numbers to apply for credit, open bank accounts and even buy houses.

The IRS knows well that millions of illegal immigrants use TINs to file taxes annually. In fact, a few years ago the tax agency discovered 7.9 million W-2 forms with names that didn’t match a Social Security number. Not surprisingly, the majority of the forms were filed in states with large illegal immigrant populations such as Texas, California and Florida.

This year tax preparers in several Border States are reporting a huge surge in the number of illegal aliens requiring tax filing services. One Phoenix Arizona company that caters to Hispanics is making a killing. The owner says that the majority of his 10,000 customers filing taxes are illegal immigrants without Social Security numbers.

In Atlanta one tax preparer has seen an equally large increase in illegal immigrants filing taxes to document residency and good morale character in case U.S. lawmakers approve an amnesty bill. In Los Angeles a once-struggling tiny tax preparation office in the inner city is now booming with illegal immigrants racing to beat next week’s filing deadline.

Illegal aliens across the country are openly speaking to the media about their newfound tax filings. Diggers Realm writes that illegal immigrants have learned that, since the IRS doesn’t cooperate with law enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security, they have little to fear.

All of the numbers from the Census Bureau are politicized - none of them can be trusted.

If The Gov't thinks it advantageous to underestimate the illegal population, then it will underestimate the illegal population

By contrast, one of the more interesting attempts to quantify the illegal presence is to count the number of duplicate FICA payments to the SSA [I believe that among the popular commentators, Neil Boortz is the one who has really been hammering home the importance of this approach].

The numbers I've heard are something like 9M duplicate payments on identical social security numbers, which would indicate AT LEAST 9M illegals in the "legitimate" economy.

I googled a little, and found this Judicial Watch article, which quotes 10M TIN's issued, and almost 8M known bad W2's:

http://www.corruptionchronicles.com/2007/04/irs_caters_to_illegal_immigran.html

Then the interesting question becomes: What percentage of illegals work in the legitimate economy, and what percentage work in the underground, cash-only economy [which makes no payments to the SSA - recall the failed Zoe Baird nomination].

Finally you ask yourself: Okay, what percentage of "illegals" are minor children? [And we'll throw their anchor babies into the pot, the legality of illegal anchor baby-ism still being largely undetermined at this point]. And that, in turn, begs the question: What percentage of adult illegals "work" in the first place? Surely some of them must stay at home to watch the kids - they can't all be in state-subsidized day care, can they?

Anyway, depending upon your assumptions, you could come up with all sorts of figures.

For instance:

1) Assume 9M adult illegals in the "legitimate" economy.

2) Assume 50% of adult illegals work the legitimate economy, and the other 50% either work the underground/cash-only economy, or else stay at home with the kids.

3) Assume a 1-1 ratio between adult illegals and their minor children.

Then that gets you to

(2 X [9M + 9M]) = 36 Million illegal aliens

which probably isn't that far off the actual number.

Yes, the municipalities that absorb the majority of illegal immigrants become blue-collar...at least that's what happened in Montgomery County, Maryland. But, I am not aware of the disasterous consequences happening here.

Funny I live in Montgomery Co. as well. I'm guessing you haven't been anywhere near a hospital emergency room in the last ten years to see the huge changes as 'sanctuary illegal aliens' are clogging the hospitals using them cost free.

How about the increase in hit and run by undocumented uninsured 'sanctuary illegal aliens'?

Probably aren't any where near the government financed 'day laborer' pick-up buildings either. Funny I don't see any county, state or federal tax collectors there to ascertain that the appropriate with-holding taxes and FICA are paid into the system.

And I have been told by County mounties that they've been instructed not to look too closely at documents presented by hispanic looking people less they open a can of worms. No sir, we don't want to go there.

Sir/Mam...I'm not denying that services aren't stretched. They just aren't STRETCHED

If you go to the emergency room with an emergency...they take you right away. Somehow...nobody dies. If you've got the flu...you wait longer...but you see a doctor.

In MC...it's managed.

And guess what? The local economy needs the illegal immigrant...that's why the police are told to leave them alone.

IMO, the reasons are plain as day.

Two income families trying to afford a mortgage and two car payments, child care, food, OutBack Steakhouse, Giant Food.

This is the BIG LIE. Nobody has the guts to explain the truth to the American people. Which is our local, state and federal government likes to spend money. Their money comes from taxes and fees.

We've got 95.5% employment...plus 25 million illegal workers

Eveyone has short-term memories, IMO. We've had 7 YEARS of economic boom and lowered taxes.

We need the illegal alien. The government is the john and the illegal is the prostitute.

We're just dickering over the price.

Medical services are managed in Mont. Co.?

Why did Shady Grove Adventist lose it’s accreditation 4 or 5 years back? After drastic mgtmt changes they’ve recovered it. It has one of the largest burdens of illegal immigrants in the ER. Take a cruise through there some Friday or Saturday night. Look into the sinks in the ER cubicles. Similar things at Holy Cross ER.

“If you go to the emergency room with an emergency...they take you right away.”

Crap, sheer crap. Because of my late fathers illnesses I had a chance to view all the major hospitals in Mont Co. and Washington Hospital Center as well. And they don’t take you right away.

The local economy does not need illegal immigrants unless they love lawn workers. Shall we go onto illegal aliens that are also illiterate in their native tongue working construction? Interesting that home building components are growing increasingly more complex with more warnings as to safe and proper usage of chemical compounds, yet the illegal labor pool grows more ignorant day by day.
You have no idea about the daily accidents happening on construction sites here. More than half of the under table illegal construction/renovations are undertaken with no knowledge of the building code and licenses.

How about the townhouses in Rockville and Gaithersburg that have 12 to 17 people living in 3br 1100sf apartments. Talk to your fire dept. and ask about the rising numbers of fires in these units caused by open flames and overloaded circuits.

You must live in Potomac.....

No...moved out of Montgomery County to Frederick County....up I-270 fifteen minutes north of Germantown...to Urbana (Villages of Urbana).

You seem very bitter, BTW...discussing the illegal immigrant.

Curious...how has YOUR personal life been affected and/or compromised?
