which would have no "reasonable suspicion" criteria

Well, so much for keeping one's head out of the radar screen and not promoting reasonable search.

At least an individual has the right to defend himself in Great Britain anyway./s

"Civil liberties campaigners are worried the powers will be used disproportionally against ethnic minorities"

Ah, the usual tripe from leftist propagandists..... let's see, since the TERRORISTS in Britain (post-IRA) are overwhelmingly comprised of "ethnic minorities" aka Paki jihadists, it would make sense to rational people that a disproportionate number of those stopped will fit such a profile..... OOPS, I almost forgot, security "profiles" are one of those rational methods that the PC left has declared off limits, so the Brits had better make sure they strip-search the proper proportion of 85 year old great-grandmothers.

Here’s a country that lost gun rights less than 20 years ago, and in a few short years they have lost double jeopardy, trial by jury, and just now, protection from unreasonable search and seizure. They’re really sliding now.

Civil liberties campaigners are worried the powers will be used disproportionally against ethnic minorities.

If they're middle-eastern looking, then more power to them. Not all muslims are terrorists, but....

Why didn’t they just let the Nazis take over back in 1940? They would have the same draconian government they have now, soon they will start gassing the jews in order to appease the muzzies.

I perceive a trend.

Presumption of innocence.

Probable cause.

Reasonable suspicion.

Presumption of guilt.

No-knock warrants.

Shoot first, question later.

These “civil liberties campaigners” are no doubt the same people who support the ultimate destroyer of “civil liberties” - - socialism.
