Robert Mitchum Speaks From Grave (Works Today Just As Much As Yesterday)

Robert Mitchum speaking from the grave? If you apply his words about the war back then and apply them to today....not a damn difference if you ask me.

God, I miss this man....class act.

Mitchum, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra....they “got it”.

I don’t care what anyone says. Mitchum’s role in Cape Fear was way more menacing than De Niro’s character.

Mitchum wrote the lyrics to Thunder Road and then starred in the movie of the same name. I still think its a good song and catch myself singing it often.

Spoken from the “Greatest Generation”. Some off us still feel this way but unfortunately not enough.

Blast you for beating me to Cape Fear and the most menacing performance ever.

Pinging Travis McGee (welcome back), who’ll get the connection.

That’s why we used to “win” wars and our enemies surrendered unconditionally or died refusing to do so.

LOL. Yeah, I’ve always thought De Niro was cheesy in that movie, kind of like some 80s horror B-movie villain. Not one of his better roles.

Well, for starters, the “Greatest Generation”, didn’t have to deal with “Politically Correctism”

I'm sure you do a great version of it, but I prefer the Ballad of Thunder Road by Jim and Jessie.

And how far Hollywood has fallen from supporting the troops to doing everything they can to undermine, mock, protest, and rally against them today.

I’ve seen that movie a dozen times, in theaters no less. Carolyn Jones from Amarillo played his wide-eyed girlfriend.

Thanks for posting; it applies as much today as it did then.

Too bad Bush and congress don’t get the message.
