BUENOS AIRES, Argentina - A cold snap in Argentina led to electricity and natural gas shortages this week, idling factories and taxis and causing sporadic blackouts in the capital. ADVERTISEMENT
Beset by the coldest May since 1962, millions of residents fired up space heaters, straining Buenos Aires' electrical grid for three nights and forcing authorities to slash power supply nationwide and briefly cut domestic natural gas provisions and exports to Chile.
Grumbling taxi drivers waited for hours in lines stretching several blocks to fill up their black-and-yellow cabs with scarce compressed natural gas. Some protested by tossing garbage into the streets during rush hour Thursday, causing traffic jams.

Ouch! This doesn’t come at a good time for Chile either. They need that gas.
Earth gets colder = Global Warming.
Earth stays the same temp = worry about Global Warming.
That about sum it up?

That about sum it up?
Add one little thing and it'll be complete: Use the hysteria of "global warming" to tax the ever-loving crap out of everybody......
yup, that about does it...
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t our Environmental Left been holding up Argentina as a shining example of ‘progressive’ energy policies??
A cautionary tale, indeed, for those US politicians who would have us follow them over the cliff......
Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
Shhh! The new buzzword is “Climate Change”.
It’s gonna get chilly in Chile..........Got chili?......
That about sum it up?....you left ot “BLAME GEORGE BUSH FOR IT!”.........
“...tax the ever-loving crap out of everybody...”
first it was the “b.t.u. tax” in ‘93. now it’s the “carbon tax” in ‘07. the only difference is that they have injected fear into ‘07. the big problem is that the so-called american electorate has fallen for it and they will elect hillary! in ‘08 and give the whole ball of wax to the democrats.
whatever you have read about goose-stepping totalitarians will become living history as they run rough-shod over all of us cattle. (watch for the obnoxious, adolescent, adulthood-eschewing democrats to inflict their warped sense of justice on the rest of the population.)
And just yesterday Bush was touting that WE must lower our CO2 emissions. When will he get the facts that Mr. Sun and the clouds are to blame? Maybe God IS more powerful than humans.
Question, Mr. B. Why is the temperature on Mars increasing? Where are the humans?
Well now that the increasingly foolish looking Bush is about to go off the environmental cliff at the G8 summit and give the official U.S. Gooberment seal of approval to “climate change”, I guess I will start pointing the finger at him.
No, don’t point, it’s impolite.........WAG YOUR FINGER AT HIM!!!!!!!...........
I see the same thing coming. With Shrillery as POTUS I expect a windfall profits tax on the oil companies (read gas shortages, lines at stations and skyrocketing prices), socialized health care (read shortages and skyrocketing prices, along with a significant drop in the number of practicing Physicians), national gun registration (and ultimately gun confiscation), open borders (which will invite numerous terrorist attacks), and, of course, the return of the Fairness Doctrine (which, along with McCain-Feingold, will be the end of true free speech in this country)
Not a pretty picture at all. Planned your escape route yet?
That can be both a good thing and a bad thing if taken to extreme. But this GW - Immigration thing I cannot understand. His advisors must be totally blind or stupid or both..........
Yeah, steadfastness and stubborness are indeed two different animals, eh?
