WASHINGTON — The Justice Department said Friday teams of federal agents are being dispatched to four additional cities to combat violent crime: Mesa, Ariz.; Orlando, Fla.; San Bernardino, Calif.; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The announcement comes as the FBI prepares to release new numbers next week showing that violent crime continues to rise nationally.
At the same time, a new internal report rapped task forces for failing to coordinate efforts — and potentially endangering agents' lives.
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales was to announce the additional task forces during a Friday afternoon speech at the Washington headquarters of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

I wonder how much crime is committed by illegal aliens. Or future citizens, as some would like them to become.

Once they are “regularized” that problem will go away.

Just where in the Constitution is the Federal government empowered to “combat violent crime”? Or crime in general, other than offenses against federal laws enacted under the powers delegated to the Federal government, such as mail fraud, impersonating a military member, and so forth?

The problem isn’t catching criminals, or even convicting them. The problem is too many liberals don’t keep these folks in jail long enough.
And, yes, the feds should stick to fed issues.

BATFE is not a crime fighting organization. It’s a tax collection agency with delusions of grandeur. (Even though it’s no longer in Treasury) Their job is to violate the Constitution of the United States. When is the last time you heard of the BATFErs raiding the Bloods, Crips, or MS-13? Hmm?
